bench doesn't matter that much though because doc said blake is playing 40 minutes a game (he only played 30 last year) and there will be at least two starters on the floor at all times.
Which no one talks about when they mention his numbers going down.
Bench is gonna matter. Chris Paul doesn't like playing more than 36 minutes post knee injury though. I just don't see how they think they're gonna win with that front court. Those back up bigs are all terrible unless they think they're getting 08 Lou Amundson or whenever his decent series for the Suns was. Antawn should have retired 3 years ago. Ryan Hollins is cute and all, but no. They've got the wings and point guard decent enough, but one game of foul trouble or an injury to the front court and they're ****ed.
^ he's more than cute bruh, he's a real 1. he got his own restaurant too and he follows me on twitter. love
i'm pretty sure deandre is going to be playing crunch time because doc knows they need him playing those minutes if they want to win in the playoffs. and if they lose some regular season games with him missing free throws it doesn't matter. he could get up to 60% i think if he keeps getting to play and has confidence. also they can go small with matt barnes at 4 depending on the team. and hollins can play a few minutes too if they have to.
the only teams that are really big are grizzlies and pacers. and there is a chance the clippers won't have to play either of them. every other team has a power forward who mostly shoots jumpers and could be guarded by barnes or dudley.
I don't think him finishing games is a problem. He's never had foul trouble really, Vinny tried his T-time program and DeAndre wasn't up for it because **** free throw shooting. The only thing that concerns me about DeAndre is if he doesn't care to improve despite Doc and CP3 pushing him too. That's always been the knock on him is whether he gives a shit enough to continue to improve. I think as long as he improves defensively he'll always finish games, regardless.
Also he needs to get better at passing. Dudley and Redick waiting to catch the ball to shoot threes off passes from him or Blake? <insert that ray allen smiley>
And I would worry about the Timberwolves in the first round. Pek and Love could have major fun if that franchise manages to stay healthy and avoid the major injury this year.
i've been watching him his whole career and i would say that not trying hard was true when he was drafted and up until blake griffin was drafted. then he and blake became bffs and he got in great shape and put in tons of work. last year he added some nice hooks shots to his game which he never had before. but none of his coaches have ever gave him a chance. mike dunleavy played him like 3 minutes and then he would get a defensive 3 second call and would bench him immediately. vinny was basically the same. he never played him more than 25 minutes and always shit on him when talking to media.
