Default Lakers Agree to 1 Year Deal with Wesley Johnson

http://www.lakersnation.com/lakers-n...on/2013/07/13/

Thoughts of this pickup? He just turned 26.

Meh..still no legit SF on the roster, at best we now have 2 tweener 3s.

It looks like the Lakers will be playing small ball all season now. I don't see it working out all that good. I like Wesley Johnson, but the Lakers really needed a true SF after letting Metta go. At least we all know this is a mediocre team going into the season.

If it is anything like what the suns were, you can count on having a young exciting team that can score, and not much else.

It is a good tactic for a rebuilding squad that needs to sell season tickets. Then once we sign a couple of max guys, we can fire D'Antoni and hire another coach.

But until then, this will just have to do. It'll be a young exciting team to watch. If they start winning early, Kobe can delay his return and focus on his recovery.

The key word there was young. It will be refreshing to see some younger athletes on the court for the first time in quite a while. I'm sure they'll be able to run quite a bit better this season.

Absolutely. Farmar and Young were both loved by LA when they were both on UCLA and USC respectively. This is a way to bring fans to the seats IMO.

The one thing that guarantees a fun-to-watch season is Nash's health. Until Kobe comes back, Nash will be in control and will be able to play free however he sees fit.

My worry is when Kobe comes back, and then he starts saying slow it down and all that stuff. If it works for him sure, but there are other good players on this team too.

Another great pickup for the purple and gold! Kupchak is putting together the deepest team in the nba right now and he has gotten rid of all the scrubs. We are having a great offseason thus far.

Wes Johnson is a true SF, and damn, was I high on this kid back during the 09 (?) draft. Wanted him to drop to #8 for the Clips, but we got Prince Farouq instead.

Dude is a solid defender, and can hit the outside shot, but otherwise, is pretty average to non-existent. If he can even get to a 1/3 of what I was expecting, this would be a great pick-up and could pay dividends to try to get into the post-season. At the minimum though, it doesn't hurt.

Need to get some Big West guys though. Josh Akognon >>

Kobe injured dont know when he will come back and how he will be..

Nick Young not a bad signing...

Kaman someone we need for now...

An Old Nash and Slow footed Pau...hopefully they will have better play this season...

Signed Farmar again is he still NBA worthy?

Signed Wesley Johnson.....

Ummmmmm next season might be a long long loooooong season people.

Im genuinely excited for next year, we could really make some noise. Kobe is said to possibly return before the season even tips off, and this is what our roster looks like so far:

Nash/Blake/Farmar
Kobe/Meeks/Young
Johnson/
Hill/Kelly
Gasol/Kaman/Sacre

remaining FA from last year: Jamison, Morris, Goudelock, Ebanks

The main thing we have this year that we didn't have last year is depth, however the Forward position looks quite depleted...I don't expect anything from Kelly, so hopefully he can prove me wrong, but in the likely chance that he doesn't I hope we can get Tawn back, or at least sign Odom to play a little at the 3 and 4. Other than that issue, this team looks pretty balanced and I sure do like it, we got alot of good shooters (amen), we got bigs who can rebound, and no drama queens to disrupt chemistry. Now that all the guys are on the same page, maybe we can make something of this season instead of it just being a pt2 of the latter season.

I'd rather have Gasol at 4 though.
