Default The Most Perfect Moment in Gaming History (Spoilers Allowed)

If you're going to partake with your own "perfect moment" and it includes obvious spoilers, please be sure to put in bold letters the title of the game so someone who doesn't want the spoiler to ruin his own experience can skip pass your post.

For me, the game is Red Dead Redemption.

When you leave New Austin and enter Mexico, there's a song called "Far Away" that plays as you ride the provided horse through the Mexican desert. I think it is the most awe-inspiring moment in gaming history. It's surreal. I'm on a phone at the moment so I can't provide you guys with a link of the video, but if you look it up on YouTube, you'll find it.

The reason I feel this is the greatest is because the song fits the situation perfectly. I'll explain.

John Marston just crossed over to Mexico off of US soil, far away from his family & the place he calls "home," and is on a mission to find & murder those he knew as brothers for a long time. He just finished shooting to death hordes of gangsters looking to kill him and his drunken pal Irish, aka Rato. The song comes during a few minutes of silence and serenity on a long trip through a desert.

If my description doesn't explain it enough, just play the game for yourself.

I recently started playing this game again and when I got to this point of the game, I intentionally avoided saving so I can play it over again and experience the moment.

What do you guys think? Do you agree with me or do have a different video game moment that you consider greater?

Later in the game you have a choice to either save or leave Zulf, a character that previously sold out your group. Zulf has now been left to die by his own people. If you save him, you carry him on your shoulders absorbing attacks until your enemies just stop and realize there is no stopping you. This is all accompanied by another great song in the best video game soundtrack ever.

Bioshock Infinite

I could name a dozen individual moments from this game. It was that good. But my favourite is the end of Songbird in Rapture of all places. Beyond the name, the game gave little hints to the connection between Columbia and Rapture in the voxophones. Songbird wasn't a deeply developed creation but its demise was tough to take. Tying Infinite to the previous games in this manner was, IMO, brilliant.

Cant think of any off hand but this was a great moment no doubt. RDR is a classic game. I remember that moment as well. Whoever decided to create that sequence with music did a terrific job.

In Hitman: Blood Money, in the last mission you come back to life and blow the shit outta all the guards to a epic soundtrack... very satisfying ending, and hard as fvck on the highest difficulty.

Another "holy shit" moment was in Dishonored when I figured out you could jump off of the rooftops and kill the tallboys...

GTA: San Andreas when you find out Ryder and them set up CJ's mom.

The Silent Cartographer from Halo:ce. Beach assault, and Stealth Elites, kept this level from dragging on.

The "aha!" moment when Civilization made sense to me on more levels than overpowering the opponents. Reorganizing and going to war with a strategy focusing on 2 or 3 wars in the future.

Discovering city of Ironforge in WoW. Nothing in that game comes close to that first time running up the mountain to the Gates of Ironforge. Almost every city in WoW is a logistical mess. Ironforge is contained in a mountain, and its atmosphere is certainly part of the charm.

I always liked that part and at the very beginning with Ezio and his brother on the roof of the church before the title displays. Also, riding down the mountain approaching Jerusalem for first time was really awesome to me because of this song and the history of it.

Mass Effect 3 gets shit on a lot but it had some great cinematic moments in it, like when Thane died.
