Default Are Knicks rising in East, staying same or falling?

The Heat still has LeBron. Chicago, Indiana and Brooklyn all got better and don’t look now but Cleveland has a plan and is headed in the right direction. The Knicks, as presently put together, are still a playoff team and one capable of winning between 45 and 52 games. But claiming they’ve improved is like trying to convince someone that Stoudemire’s knees will hold up for 82 games. Nothing wrong with being optimistic but reality and history can be as jarring as Roy Hibbert’s block on Anthony in Game 6.

Anthony ended the season with a damaged shoulder that as of now won’t need surgery but could be a recurring issue. Stoudemire will be on a minutes restriction, Chandler is coming off a disappointing spring, J.R. Smith just had knee surgery, first-round pick Tim Hardaway Jr. hurt his wrist and played one summer league game, Iman Shumpert is on the owner’s bad side and the team is selling World Peace as the unifying locker room presence. Oh boy, indeed.

The East is terrible again and it wont be long before more teams will tank for the draft or FA.

The Knicks will be top 4 or 5 by default. Who knows if they can win a 2nd round match up. Stat and Bargs are prone then that means a short rotation that will ware down every other starter. Hopefully some of these kids will find a role but Woodson doesnt allow for mistakes though before he shuts them down.

I'm not sure Indiana got much better....but they didn't seem to get worse. That's how I feel about the Knicks as well. We got rid of Kidd (well he got rid of himself) and he was arguably our worst player down the stretch. We STILL have PG depth issues. We still lack a lot of 2 way players. We STILL don't have a shot blocker. However, We did add a bit of scoring and defensive toughness. I think we're around a 4 or 5 seed.

I think Bargs will probably determine how great this team will be. The better Bargs is the more in contention this team will be.

This guy was an impact player before Melo got here and he had an impact during Lin times. Other than that he's been hurt or irrelevant.
