No, anyone that's seen Tiger play this year knows he's still the best golfer on the face of this earth.

You have to cut Tiger's tour win in half because we all know Tiger is a great golfer but early in his career, he played in tournaments against bums. He would play in those Asian tournaments in Thailand and other Asian countries. Those were like exhibitions to him. They actually paid him to participate and of course, he would win. Let's not forget all those tournaments in the U.S. that were created to use his namesake. Tournaments in which Phil would not go to stack up his win column.

The only thing I give Tiger is his Majors but 14 versus 5 isn't really a big difference when you look into the history of guys winning Majors. Let's not forget those would have been easily Phil's majors if he had not choked early in his career. Once Phil hit his peak there was no going back. Tiger is past his prime right now where Phil is still finishing in the top 5 and winning tournaments.

The only thing I would take away from Tiger was all his sponsors putting up tournaments for him versus unknowns. Phil would not play in those cheap purse tournaments. Reason why Tiger played was he got paid to play in them or else Tiger would not have played either. Tiger and Phil are notorious for chasing the big purse tournaments.

Don't let the number of victories fool you.

Also, one crazy stat that I remembered people bringing up is that Tiger has never won a tournament when trailing, going into the last round. He mostly wins his tournaments when he's crushing the weak field. This was before the divorce so I'm not sure if he finally broke that streak.

Phil just won this major coming from behind 5 strokes. Pretty impressive.

Ya those 14 Majors victories can be really deceiving. Mostly beating up bums and bottom feeders.

Let's not forget Mercedes Open back, when Mercedes was one of his sponsors.

Or every year he was playing in Accenture Tournaments which dumped his @ss after the scandal and the countless other tournaments, PGA sanctioned, that nobody played in but him.

Reading comprehension.

I said the only thing I like on his resume are those 14 majors.

Nobody cares about weeks at #1 or total victories. I just explained early in Tiger's career he was playing in tournaments that Phil never even showed up to play for. Purse wasn't big enough.

I'm almost certain Mickelson was in every one of those majors that Tiger won. Isn't that Phil's problem that he didn't "show up" and not an indictment on Tiger?

Who's to say that Tiger won't be dominating again at age 43 (not saying that Mickelson is dominating because he isn't)?

Even if Tiger retired today, Mickelson has no claim to any kind of superiority over him. Not in any facet of the game. Tiger is not competing with any active golfer right now. He's competing against Jack Nicklaus.

Maybe if we're talking last decade, but this is literally not even a debate for careers - not even close.

There are no excuses - you are what you win in Golf.

14 > 5 all day every day

Not only did Phil not show up but a lot of other players too. This was early in Tiger's career when there were old white guys playing. Phil can still dominate today versus the younger guys too.

Go look at those tournaments, besides Majors of course, that Tiger played in, those were his sponsors. He had to show up to stack his win column and plus it doesn't hurt that they pay him outside the tournament. He probably got paid more to show up then actually winning the weak tournament.

I don't care about any of his non-major wins. I'm talking about his majors, and he's dominated Mickelson. One win today isn't going to change that.

And I hate to say that because Mickelson is great. You don't win 5 majors without being great, but he isn't and has never been on Tiger's level.
