For a golf expert you really don't know shit about the sport

For real though, when you have an opinion and literally nobody agrees with you, what goes through your head?

Do you think you're smarter than every single other person? Do you never say, okay, maybe I'm wrong? Maybe I overreacted?

Let's not forget all those tournaments in the U.S. that were created to use his namesake. Tournaments in which Phil would not go to stack up his win column.

The only thing I give Tiger is his Majors but 14 versus 5 isn't really a big difference when you look into the history of guys winning Majors. Let's not forget those would have been easily Phil's majors if he had not choked early in his career. Once Phil hit his peak there was no going back. Tiger is past his prime right now where Phil is still finishing in the top 5 and winning tournaments.

The only thing I would take away from Tiger was all his sponsors putting up tournaments for him versus unknowns. Phil would not play in those cheap purse tournaments. Reason why Tiger played was he got paid to play in them or else Tiger would not have played either. Tiger and Phil are notorious for chasing the big purse tournaments.

Don't let the number of victories fool you.
Mickelson started his career before Tiger

Well before Tiger. If Mickelson was so amazing he should've been beating all of those weak fields before Tiger arrived.

Even if that was the case, Dude, the OP is declaring "this generation," which entails both careers up to this point.

Under those guidelines, this is no debate.

Exactly.

If it is "....in past half decade" then it is clearly Phil.

If it is "....in past decade" then it is debatable.

it'll be interesting to see if he can regain some of that dominance and go on one last run ..

he's approaching his 40s though and injuries are an issue now .. the older he gets the harder it'll be to win one more major, let alone 4-5 .. he's gotta do it now .. and by that I mean in the next 3-4 yrs .. after that I'm afraid his chase for jn will be over

Great win by lefty today. Tiger was in the hunt. Tiger will win another major, no doubt. Will he surpass Jack Nicklaus' record? I personally don't think so.

I guess I'm right again. Yahoo article right here.

Tiger Woods' legend continues to fade

Another final-round flop means Woods has gone 17 straight majors without a win.

Like I said, Tiger isn't very clutch and he doesn't usually come from behind in the Final Rounds. He goes into the final rounds with leads and plays conservatively. He doesn't will himself to a victory.

You are stupid. The only good thing on tigers resume is 14 majors? That is incredible. Tiger is still the number one golfer in the world and has played better than anyone this year. Tiger in his prime which was less than a decade ago is the greatest golfer ever. He isn't even near that level and is still the best golfer in the world. The thread teaks of someone who never watched tiger in his prime and wants to have a different a opinion. Phil will never be better than tiger and there isn't really a point to argue about that.

Remind me how many majors Phil played in before he won? Tiger is the number one golfer in golf today. And has Ben the best player every tsar since early 2000s to today except the 3years after his big scandal. That is insane. It is more insane that you could even claim Phil is the better player of the generation.
