Of course he impressed the Hawks, he's an athletic Small Foward, who else would the Hawks take?

Him and Gerald Wallace would be fun to watch.

Default Gay or Roy

If the Blazers take Roy, then the Hawks might get Gay.

I understand that we like long players but at 6'8 1/2" that basically means he won't be able to play the 2 at all, making him set to be a 3 and only a 3. That crazy length along with his already freakish athleticism might one day may him a pretty good defenders, but I'm not sure if I'm sold on him or not.

But they can't shoot. Wallace and Morrison would be better. Wallace can penetrate and dunk. Morrison can shoot from the outside.

with the athleticism maybe he can play the 2, TMac style..or to a lesser degree, Demarr Johnson style

I dont see the problem with Gay playing SF. Wallace is more than athletic enough to play SG, I mean there arent that many guys who will beat him and they are all the undersized types who will beat your standard SG anyway. There arent many teams with two of them either so Felton can take them for the most part.

Default Gay = More Athletic Scottie Pippen????

Thats the positive outlook on Rudy Gay according to Draftexpress. I'm not even going to get into the "can he be as good as Scottie Pippen" talk becasue we've done that to death with everybody from Lamar Odom to Andre Iguodala, but is he seriously more athletic than prime Scottie Pippen?

More athletic maybe, but I really don't know why his name is even being associated with that of one Scottie Pippen.

Your thread is right next to a thread already about Rudy Gay...

But yes, as I see it, he is more athletic than Scottie Pippen. I don't think he will have the offensive output that Scottie had, but he can be just as a good a defender as Scottie. I just think he needs the right team to pick him...he won't flourish on the Hawks, but I think he would fit well into either the Raptor's,Blazer's or if he slips, the Celtics' system.
