regarding the black american women thing; its not a matter of not sleeping with them, no. i'm talking about if i was in a position to think that if the race of my children would dictate the quality of their or even prevent them from harm (like the government taking away their citizenship), i want them to have another homeland they can go to and actually have blood ties to it and not have to put up with anyone saying they don't belong. black americans came here in chains, its too easy for people to treat us like we don't belong.

remember, i'm not saying african americans. black americans (yes of african descent, but there is a difference). african americans are in the same boat as someone who is japanese american. the black american is in a very weird middle of the world where technically they are immigrants (but no more than their white neighbors), but this is very much our home country too, but because we don't control anything, own much of anything, its almost like we have no foundation to stand on in a country we're calling our home. foundation seems necessary.
Very interesting, some of the things you're touching on. Would you mind sharing a little more on the topic on African Americans vs Black Americans? Are you saying Black Americans are the offspring of the original slaves, while African Americans are simply Blacks who have either migrated to America from Africa or had children born in America, with no cross breeding from black Americans? Kind of like a purist thing?

The United States is an immigrant society. I suggest you either embrace that, or leave. OP is just a tiresome tiresome provincialist.

No one cares.

you haven't been following...the whole point is having the option to leave to a place that is still your home. duh the US is a collection of immigrants, hence the very proof that no one can call this home (outside of the ruling race i suppose, but even then, a lot of that rule is rooted in where these people came from), because it is simply a world trading posts, hence why they let just about everyone come here. there are no immigration issues in the US; there's no difficulty keeping anyone in or getting anyone out. this government knows exactly what its doing, and knows as a world market, it must always go for the money, which means not turning away potential consumers.

i know a bunch of you are labeling me an idiot or crazy, but how can acknowledge a fact like 'black people (in america)' do not have a true homeland (when you consider that this country will never ever move on from slavery, jim crow, the klan, domestic terrorism on black cities), and me wanting us to stop all this silly bs of acting ignorant on tv, supporting BET at all. we look like the ****in clowns of the world and its not completely warranted, or at least the image always wasn't, but lately (last couple decades) we've been playing the role as the ignortainment a bit too willingly while singing kumbayah like just about every other race on this planet wouldn't be happy to see us gone. no matter how deep the roots go to show how much we've contributed; we need our own land. not to oppose anyone else, just so we can contribute without a dark shadow of past raped by racism, torture, and horror. but i'm the crazy idiot...

i simply am referring to there being a clear difference between black americans and africans (who have more recent roots in Africa - Nigeria, Ethiopia, etc). there is a complete difference in culture and even they don't look at black americans as the same as them. they don't lack the same family/cultural values..

the state of black americans in this country makes total sense. why we're all out of wack and appear to be without any foundation. its a race rooted in rape and having a servants mentality. a people without forefathers and a motherland; a bastard race. when you see us in the media, or even just around, we reflect this in many ways. still no fathers, no land to call our own (white people will never ever share it; we're barely 7% of the population but are treated like we're 100% of what's wrong with the country).

but yeah, i'm the crazy fella for wanting my people to realize the reality of today and start pulling ourselves up, helping each other up. america is not a bad place, it is what it is, world wal mart, and its very easy (at least now) to make something of yourself here, but you do need a foundation. right now, the black american is lost and i do fear eventually we can get lost in history altogether. we seem to be the only race whose numbers are shrinking. mexicans are killing each other just as fast us (trying to find their identity as well, another race with identity issues) yet they are growing consistently. not a good sign to shrink.

Black people are 12.6% of the population (12.2% if you dont count hispanic blacks). Obama won in 2008 with 52.9% of the vote and 51.1% of the vote in 2012. That means that the people that voted for him (the majority of which werent black) had no problem with calling a black man our president. Also I am going out on a limb here but I am just going to say that the majority of people that voted for the GOP didn't do so for racial reasons.

I dont understand how anyone can say that racism isnt much less of a problem today than in the past. We have a black president, even the hint of racism is roundly condemned, workplace stress diversity, etc.

About the worst thing someone can be in 2013 is a racist. The pure fact that racists have to hide their racism nowadays shows how far we have come in regards to race relations.

Honestly America is one of the most patriotic/nationalistic (almost stupidly so) countries on earth. The fact that we are a nation of immigrants means every american citizen regardless of race/ethnicity can call America home.

Slavery and jim crow are both illegal, the klan is not respected by anyone, and I am not even sure what you mean by domestic terrorism in black cities.

When I think of domestic terrorism I think of the OKC bombing which was a white man attacking the US government. If you are talking about inner city violence, the vast majority of that is black on black.

Not that I care about this but thats just factually inaccurate.

Non-hispanic white were almost 90% of the country in 1950, now we are 63.7% of the population.

Actually, it's close to double that.

http://quickfacts.census.gov/qfd/states/00000.html

77.9% white
13.1% black
5.1% asian
1.2% native american
0.2% native hawaiian/islander

In terms of U.S. citizens, there are more Black Americans than there are Asian Americans. A lot more.

we have an african president with a white mother. he may as well be mexican.

alot of that patriotism is idiocracy. not even our elected representatives represent us, so how the hell can this be a country if you really have no say. the masses are just too ignorant to realize how little they matter to the powers that be outside of being milked and used in whatever agendas they want to get across.

i'm not going to dive into racism much, because to me is pretty evident it is alive and well. is someone calling me ****** and picking on me? no, but there forever remains a negative stigma attached to being a black american, and the world will not let that go. in other parts of the world they just believe what they see on tv, in the US any negative action by a black person is somehow representative of the other 99.99% of the race. i never see the kind of outcry to lock up and dispose of an entire group of people for non-black people in america when a non-black person does something criminal. this is the easiest evidence of a state on edge, and all it takes is one thing to get the idea rolling that maybe the problem is their presence. another civil war is not unlikely, except we're grossly outnumbered.

Even though they arent actually a race, muslims (and arab looking people) are treated more poorly than black folks currently... The ignorance and the hatred surrounding the reasoning of it is similar, but they have had a pretty tough time in the wake of 911.

I agree with some of what you said, But I dont think black folks should consider leaving the US ... This country is as much ours as it is anyone else's. too many people of color have fought and died to make this country better for blacks and everyone else.

I dont forsee any civil wars or race wars in the future.. I think the problem is that white america is starting to figure out that things are changing and the media and the political establishment are using that fear to capitalize on short term interests..

The real war in the near future will be a class war, not a race war. As the middle class crumbles and the institutions of this country lose the faith of the people, the public will stop buying the idea that the people who have nothing are the one's causing all the turmoil.

I know poor blacks and poor whites.. They generally think the same things.. they both think the other is stealing their opportunities. People are starting to catch on to the game though, and as they do? the media and establishment have to keep turning up the fear monger propaganda to hold our attention away from the issues that truly matter.. They can't play this game forever though..

The government continues to militarize itself against it's own people and whore itself out to corporate interests... There is only so ling this can continue without the system totally falling apart.. When that happens? Blacks and whites wont see each other as the enemy anymore because we'll both be on the outside looking in.. But for now? people will continue to put their heads in the sand and pretend that the poor are the problem..that blacks are the problem.. that racism is the issue.. that the old failed myths of the American Dream and its meritocracy still exist and still matter...

people wont wake up until reality collides with their fantasy world.. It will probably be too late at that point... but we'll see..

much respect.

and i agree...right now, that class war is probably a lot more important and more likely. perhaps that's a topic we need to be discussing in depth. because everything about the US says they are fully prepped to go full force on its citizen, over a little bit of nothing.
