In his '67 title run in the playoffs...

In every clinching game..it was CHAMBERLAIN coming up big...

Game five of the EDF's...Wilt with a 29 point (22 in the first half when the game was still close...and he let up after it became a blowout), 10-16 FG-FGA, 36 rebound, 13 assists, 7 assists. HOFer (and GOAT candidate) Russell? FOUR points, on 2-5 shooting, with 21 rebounds and 7 assists.

Game six of the NBA Finals. Chamberlain with 23 points, on 8-13 FG-FGA, 23 rebounds. HOFer (and often considered GOAT one-on-one defender) Thurmond? 12 points, on 4-13 shooting, and 22 rebounds.

How about the Sixers "leading scorer in the playoffs" Hal Greer in that game six? 15 points on 5-16 shooting.

Once again, Chamberlain had the Sixers HIGH game in the '67 playoffs, with a 41 point game (on 19-30 shooting), and he backed it up the very next game with a 37 point game (on 16-24 shooting).

How about his three playoff series?

First Round... 28.0 ppg, 26.5 rpg, 11.0 apg (yes a triple doubl series), .612 FG%.

EDF's (against Russell)... 21.6 ppg, 32.0 rpg, 10.0 apg (yes, a triple double series), and a .556 FG% (against the greatest defensive player in NBA history)

Finals... 17.5 ppg (BUT, he outscored Nate in FIVE of the six games), 28.5 rpg (and outrebounded Thurmond in five of the six games), and a .560 FG% (BTW, a prime Kareem faced Nate three times in the playoffs...and shot .486, .428, and .405.) Oh, and Thurmond shot .343 in that series.

Greer led Philly in scoring, at 27 ppg, BUT, on .429 shooting. Chamberlain averaged 21.7 ppg on a .579 FG%...and with 9.0 apg, and a stagering 29.1 rpg (all while just blowing away the two greatest defensive centers in NBA history.)

BTW, in Wilt's 65-66 season, he LED the NBA in scoring, at 33.5 ppg; rebounding, at 24.6 rpg; and FG%, at .540; as well as handing out 5.2 apg (and probably blocking 8-10 shots per game)...all while leading the Sixers to the BEST RECORD in the LEAGUE. Give me a list of all of the other players who have accomplished that feat...

And we dont know the Blocks average.....Wilt=MDE

I KNOW Chamberlain had 12 blocks in game one of the '67 EDF's (a KNOWN QUAD DOUBLE BTW ... 24-32-13-12)...and a seven in the clinching game five of that series.

I also believe sources credit Chamberlain with a game 2 in the Finals of 10 blocks (BTW, a QUAD double of 10-38-10-10.)

And I have read some accounts that have Chamberlain with as many as 20 blocks in game three of the first round of the playoffs (which would have been yet another QUAD double of 16-30-19-20...yes 19 assists.)

Not relevant with being a role player, as your title suggests. You could have written that Wilt only won as a non-leading scorer in the playoffs, but that wouldn't sound harsh enough to bash Wilt as much as you'd like, since he led his team in lots of other stuff.
Wilt never ever was a role player. Your title is irrelevant and wrong, period.

At least 33 blocks against Celtics and a lot more against Warriors.

Like I've written in the past, I'd like to see how they got to some of their blocks estimates. If this stat is correct, we're talking about an almost QUAD-20.

It is a glorified role player.

He can't win as the #1 scoring option on a team.
