Default Hornets with Kobe and Bobby Phills

If the Hornets had kept Kobe and Phills didn't die, the Hornets could have had some team. Lineup pobably would have looked something like this:

PG- Baron Davis
SG- Kobe Bryant
SF- Jamal Mashburn
PF- P.J. Brown
C- Elden Campbell

6th man- Bobby Phills

Rest of bench- David Wesley, Eddie Robinson Jamaal Magloire

Perhaps Wesley wouldn't like coming off the bench. Could this team have knocked out Philly in 2001? The Hornets team without Kobe and Phills would have knocked out Milwaukee if they didn't blow their double digit second half lead in game 6.

Actually the problem was that the Hornets wouldn't have drafted Kobe unless the Lakers told them too. The pick was agreed to be traded long before the draft and the Hornets didn't know who they were picking till draft day. They were looking for a big with the pick and the Lakers gave them the best offer. People still think the Hornets picked Kobe and Kobe talked his way out. That's not how it happened. The only team even pretends they would have taken Kobe was the Nets.
