What should the Lakers do to get to the next level?
The Lakers aren't trading Kobe Bryant. With that in mind, what moves should they make to get the team to a point where they can get to the second round, or beyond?
I've never seen anyone mention this before so I'll put the idea out there.
Trade Lamar, Bynum and Cook for Kevin Garnett and Jaric.
Jaric, Kobe, Kevin, Brown & Mihm........with Smush and Walton off the bench. I donno, they obviously will need to pay out some cash for a solid backup post and swing player, but that starting lineup is a good start.
I'm totally speculating that these contracts match up.
I guess Bynum is untradeable to a lot of "Laker fans". These guys are crazy. I've seen Bynum play and he has little potential, like someone else said in a different thread, "at BEST, he is a Diop".
Yeah AAP, like I said, he wishes he could be Diop.
He really didn't show much this year at all. A few blocks here and there. One nice move against Shaq.
Everyone looks good if you make 30 seconds of highlights. He is young and maybe something will happen, but he has NO skill right now.
Just because someone is big doesn't mean they are guaranteed to be anything at all. So far Bynum looks like the worst player taken in the 1st. I'd trade KG in a second for everyone except Kobe.

In my opinion Garnett is getting Old.
I suggest we try for Carlos Boozer again sending mihm, Cook, and Mckie over for Carlos.
Starting Lineup: Kwame, Carlos, Odom, Kobe, Marcus Banks
Marcus Banks should try and be heavily pursued, we almost had him a whle ago but Gary Payton ruined our chances.
Off the Bench:
Walton, Smush, Bynum, Laron profit or even Kareem Rush.
Bynum sucks. I hated the pick from the get go. He's 4 years away and even then he won't be anything special.
Anyway...what the Lakers need to do to become a great team..they need to follow the Dallas model. Dallas has only 1 superstar but they're great.
Lakers need to add depth. They need a few more scorers. They need a starting PG with Smush Parker on the bench. They need a SF or a PF that can give them 10-15 ppg...
If the Lakers add some depth in the off season, they're going to be a much better team.
Depth and talent is all that we need. Also, it would be nice if Kwame improved a little bit.
We only have 2 starting caliber players and those are Kobe and Odom. We need 2 more.

Get a freakin PG, Micth-up has to get rid of the CBA dude, with the quickness man. Parker has no business starting in the NBA, Drafting Diaz would be a start in the second round i'd draft another PG as well, then I'd pick up Rush at the League Min. And then Wait for Kwame and Grant to come off the books. -DiggLer
