Won 80-61 but the game wasn't remotely that close. Led by 25-30 most of the second half before the regulars went into "f**k it" mode and Roy put in the walk-ons the last 2-3 minutes.
McAdoo has really grown on me. He's no longer taking that awful unbalanced pull up jumper and forcing his non-existent post moves. He's actually balanced on all his jumpers now (and consequently they are going in at a much higher rate), been extremely aggressive attacking the rim, and the guy has been an animal these past few games.
Not sure if I was more impressed with him today diving all over the floor or when were we getting blown out by UVA the other day and he was still diving on the floor when everyone else gave up. His energy has been Hansbrough-esque, except he's doing it with NBA athleticism and fluidity.
And I can't stress the difference in his game when he stops avoiding contact. I haven't seen him use his patent missed reverse layup in a while. Dunks or free throws. I like it, although it would be nice if he could actually make free throws. One step at a time, I suppose.
I think the switch flipped for him and we are seeing what he actually is. He's not Tim Duncan (still don't get the comparison, Jonathan Givony), not James Worthy, Blake Griffin, nor Thomas Robinson. He's a utility 3/4, who can shoot a little, handle a little, plays good to great defense, and bring a lot of energy. Hopefully I didn't jinx it.
What? No attention for Michigan winning at MSU? They rarely ever win there lately, even last year's team got smoked. Is this year's a better team? Even without McGary?
They are playing scary good right now. Stauskas is a straight baller. I thought they were in for a down year with Burke and Hardaway leaving and then Mcgary going down but they have been on a huge tear.
