Its hard to know what KG really wants. This guy is scared to demand a trade so he might opt out because its easier then faces the minny organization. Hope we can sign him in the off season and not give up to much.
Do you guys really think he would come to us for the MLE?
Other potential championship teams like Orlando who have dwight howard can sign this guy...and because its in the east...its crazy to think what Garnett, Howard, and the rest of those guys can do.

I can see him heading to orlando.
What he said, other teams can offer the MLE as well and are championship contendors so if he signs for the MLE, why won't he go there? On top of that, teams could offer him a ton of money which need a big and he can make a huge impact like the Hawks, Bobcats and possibly the Grizzlies as well.
If Orlando signs Vince this summer (assuming he opts out) there is no way they will be able to afford Garnett. It will take more than the MLE to get him. He's not going to leave over 20 million on the table with the Timberwolves to go somewhere for the MLE. I still think the Lakers have a good shot to pick him up though. They were certainly interested in having Jason Kidd and his salary so I would assume they would welcome KG. He is definately unhappy. I think he will bolt Minnesota after next year, but once he decides to do that there are going to be a lot of teams interested in him. That is if Minnesota doesn't trade him in the off season this year or next season. If they were smart they would trade him this off season when he has the most trade value. If they are dumb they do it next season before the trade deadline when they will be forced to if they want anything in return and that anything won't be too much. Or they could let him go for nothing and just have that salary drop off but I don't see that as a smart move because they gotta have some talent there.
The Twolves will most likely trade him before he opts-out and that would also be better for KG as he would like to keep making 20 mil
Bulls and Lakers have the best chance at this...KG choosing to opt out lowers the value Minnesota can get for him.
If KG goes with the "Im opting out or trade me to Bulls/Lakers (two teams he rumored to be interested in)"...Minnesota will be forced not only to give him up but accept the highest bidder between the the two.
So would Lakers be willing to sacrifice Bynum (they better)...what do twolves value more? The knicks pick or Bynum? Then you have players like Odom or Thomas that can be added to the mix. But it wont even get that expensive.
KG's price may be real cheap if he put the Twolves in a "trade me or opt-out" deal...and he should, after all that hes been through
Both Lakers and Bulls hold everything he wants, he will be a big part of the team and will make either serious contenders. I cant see him going anywhere like the Mavs since he would be considered a "tag-along"
Bottom line: Lets not discuss this until summer, we got a team to worry about and I myself am sick of trade rumors
we probably have to give up bynum if we were to trade for kg but i could care less who we give up for KG
I would not trade Bynum for nobody. Because if he turns out to be something great we are gonna look stupid and we are gonna be very pissed at ourselves.

You'd pass up on KG just to keep a chance of Bynum being a great player, which might not happen

Kg is getting older. And Bynum is still 19 years old he has a bright future, but KG is declining. If your looking towards the future then you definetly go with Bynum. And if Bynum becomes great then you made a smart deicision and if he doesnt then its badd. Its a risky buisness but sometimes you got to make risks to get the reward.

So you want to wait for Bynum and let Kobe's prime pass us? Bynum wont become as good as KG and even if somehow someway he does, Kobe will be too old by that time. The smart decision is do everything to WIN now when you have the chance.
If KG is in the Lakers, then the Lakers have a legit chance of a championship this few years, instead of waiting for Bynum's prime and Kobe starts to decline.

Pairing up Kobe/KG now would be amazing
I personally think Bynum will be ready 1 or 2 years. Kobe will only be 29 or 30. He will not be that old. I am not saying I would not love to have KG because I would love to have KG. I am a big fan of his. But if we have to give up Bynum for him, I would not want to do that deal because if bynum becomes a great and dominate center then we arent gonna be very happy. Yes Kobe and KG will be together for 3 or 4 years but Bynum and Kobe would be together for 5,6 or even 7 years I think that duo would be fun and exciting to watch.
And if we had a chance to sign KG this summer that would be great. Imagine if we could get KG without giving up anybody(Including Bynum) that would be pretty cool.
