I don't only rank based on this year but base it on a look at the past couple years.

1. Aaron Rodgers
2. Peyton Manning
3. Tom Brady
4. Drew Brees
5. Phillip Rivers
6. Eli Manning
7. Ben Roethlisberger
8. Tony Romo

After that it's a wash

Rivers has had a ton of production. Same with Romo. No way Andrew Luck and Wilson are higher

If Eli is in your top 10 then you haven't watched him play this year...he already has 9 ints...he is going for a record

Hell he sucked last year too

Its time to stop being blinded by those rings which were won by an entire team of 53 players and coaches.

He's on pace for 5300 yards, 32 tds and 12 picks..... and he's been bad this year? Wonder what good looks like in that case.

You have to factor in past performance and the type of talent the player is.

Foolish to base a rank on four games.

Matt Ryan is a damn good quarterback. As good as anyone not named the big 4.

Eli's ability to play in big moments gets him points. I do the same with Aikman on the all-time scale. Does anyone actually think that dude was a top 20 talent ever? Only way he'd get ranked that high is because of his good post-season play. Same with Eli

Wtf?

You're saying Aikman was never top-20?

And stop with the silly nonsense that a magical force takes over Eli when "big moments" happen

Eli throws away more games on INTs than anyone...

This year Eli is right there with Blaine Gabbert

He 's not top 20 all-time in terms of skill. You can make that case purely because of post-season play and rings. I do the same with Eli despite him playing like shit. The fact that Romo has had some big chokes (I used to defend them too until I saw it happen against my team ) while Eli has played great in some big moments is why I would put him ahead.

Now that I think about it, I'd put Big Ben above Eli tho

but neither Ben or Eli has played well in "big moments" in this season or last season...both are busy throwing INTs in the 4th...the Steelers missed the playoffs last year because Ben ended games on INTs...same with Eli this year

you're behind the times...you need to catch up

The point is they both have a history of coming through and playing well in big games and big moments time and time again for their careers.

Romo has shown throughout his career that he does NOT hold up his end of the bargain in big games as defined as win or go home, or win and clinch.

That may or may not change, but it is what it is at this point.

The eight games in both playoff years he was spectacular the whole time and led the team down the field to win the super bowl BOTH times.

In both years with a similar chance to knock off the Giants, Romo made a crappy throw.

Last year the Ravens finally won. It was easily the best Flacco has every played in the playoffs, he made every play he needed to.

Romo, with a chance to take the game against the Skins, threw a bad pick.

Essentially what you try to say is Eli throwing bad picks now (early in the season) proves he sucks, but Romo throwing bad picks at the end of playoff games is ok.

How does that work? You always try to paint it as equal but do you mean you'd rather win early season games than the Super Bowl? And don't tell me "it's all the same", do you get the same degree of satisfaction from week 1 as the Super Bowl?
