Schiano should be fired tomorrow.

This team is absolutely pathetic, and they obviously don't respect him. He needs to be fired ASAP.

Lovie Smith will be the Bucs next HC (at least he should be).

It's a wonder why teams sign coaches like this, despite everyone knowing they will fail. The dictatorship style rarely works in the NFL, and a lot of these egomaniac college coaches refuse to change.

Anyways, since my Raiders aren't doing shit as always; I'm starting to gain interest in Carolina. Their defense is for real.

3rd in total yards
8th in passing yards
4th in rushing yards
2nd in points allowed

That's some impressive numbers from their defense.
They also haven't allowed a 1st half touchdown all season STILL.

I don't get why they're only 4-3. They have so many weapons. Tolbert, Newton, Smith, Ginn, Olsen, Williams...they're getting Stewart back soon, and they might trade for Nicks (as they should). With that type of defense, this team is pretty underrated right now, IMO.

They lost two heartbreaking games against Seattle/Buffalo, I'm definitely starting to like how they play. I've heard from an analyst that their average age on defense is 24, that's INSANE. They're so good already.

I'm really excited for the Dolphins game. It looks we might finally have Talib, Amendola and Gronk healthy along with Brady and Ridley. Wanna see if Brady can get out of this slump....

Giants aren't trading Nicks for a 3rd round pick. What would be the point of that? They can put a higher tender than that on him in FA, they lose the chance to resign him, and 3rd round picks aren't that valuable. Is it worth it to have more money to rookies than to sign another vet with the free money if he leaves?

It's not how they do business, and the initial rumor came from the NY papers so you know it's just people pulling shit from the sky.

3rd round pick is more valuable then nothing.
Nicks wants to be one of the richest receivers in the league this off-season, he already said that. If Giants aren't willing to give him big money then they're taking the 3rd round pick.

I think Carolina will offer a 2nd round pick though, for either Nicks or Josh Gordon. Smith is in his 13th season, it's a perfect opportunity for Carolina to get a replacement for him.

Smith/Nicks/Ginn/Olsen would be disgusting though.

2nd round they'd probably do because it's such an overpay. 3rd round they won't. Tell me when in the Giant history they gave up on a season and started trading players for picks.

And you say they'll get nothing...
1) They'll still have a chance to sign him, maybe cheaper if he keeps playing poorly.
2) They can put a 2nd round tender on him.
3) They can use the money they would pay the 3rd round pick to pay a veteran.

How do you put a tender on a UFA?

They would get a comp pick, depending on how he performs and who the Giants replace him with (if anyone) in free agency.

Ignore this if Nicks is a RESTRICTED FREE AGENT.

Comp pick then. My bad.

I don't think the Giants see overwhelming value in a 3rd round pick. They still need people to come see the last eight games, they still want the players to keep playing. The Giants are not in tank mode. People look at this from their point of view, not what the Giants normally do.

There is literally nothing in their history recent or otherwise to suggest the Giants would rather have a 3rd round pick than Nicks production. If it's a higher can't turn down type of pick maybe. But 3rd - it seems very unlikely.
