Default Battier-Gay trade.

Who wins? Memphis gets even more athletic while the Rockets pass up an athlete for an intelligent defensive-minded player to provide more freedom for T-Mac (health permitting). Comments?

I think Houston made a mistake here. Gay has too much potential to pass up and battier feels more like a bandage solution.

i agree with "hehe"... Houston finally had that 3rd option to help them out offensively.. its not like Mcgrady or Yao can score all of Houstons points..

Memphis came away with the a steal in Gay...

I'm with Dream, the trade hasn't been finalized yet I think. If there is an additional consideration for Houston it maybe ok, but right now it's a bad move for Houston.

the only reason grizze dude wants it to go though is because he knows memphis got a hugh still the still of the draft. but all i can say is defense wins championships offense sells tickets which we dont have trouble doing. bad move houston. but now since swift is part of the deal we will have more cap space to sign a high prospect free agent. give mike james a MLE and sign maybe bonzi wells who can score and play great defense. but now we have a chance for zach randolph who can score as well get all three of them would make use a instant contender. what do yall think.

Gay could end up being the best player in the draft and is on of the few who I think have the potential of becoming a star. So I think the Grizz got an incredible steal.

Default Wow

With moves like this the Van Gundy era in Houston may be over soon. I just don't see how you can pass on Gay when he falls to you? Gay was in the top pick conversations just a few days ago. Good by Van Gundy, hello Rick Adelman.

I think that this trade is reminiscent of Scottie Pippen-Olden Polynice...

The Rockets got jipped IMO, I'm not dissing Shane Battier, he's a good player, but Rudy Gay has the potential to be at a level that Battier would never dreamed of...
