Default Rodney Carney>Thabo Sefolosha

WTF Paxson, why get nervous & make this trade ?? ???

Tyrus Thomas & Rodney Carney would've been a great draft.

Mind you, I'm not big on Tyrus Thomas.

Do y'all agree that Carney will be a far better player than Sefolosha, and would have been a steal for the Bulls @ #16 ?? ???

I have never worked out NBA prospects before. I would take Paxson's decision as a good one since he's played in the NBA and worked these players out. Skiles and Pax like hard working players and Carney I dont think fits that mold where Sef does according to everything I have read. Have faith in Pax he has made sound decision as a GM.

Carney's biggest issue is his lack of ball-handling skills and his defense is questionable which isn't going to get you on da Bulls squad.

A lot of questions were raised after Carney measured in 2 inches shorter than evreybody thought he was. Doesn't change his ability, but Paxson liked that Sefolosha was a long perimiter defender, something any team can use.

I wouldn't be surprised if Thabo never played a single minute for us ala Yaroslav Korolev. I hate that pick and that trade from Paxson. Now, I will question him just like I questioned Angelo's stupidity picks from his draft.

God, I don't know why I watch these drafts. Both Angelo and Paxson get me irritated with their selections.

Not that happy with the Sefolosha pick, Sefolosha seems like a project and Carney seems like a sure thing. Carney has both world class athletic ability and great shooting touch. Worst case scenario you get a super athletic Pike who can defend big gaurds. Best case scenario you get an elite NBA swingman (not likely I admit), Sefolosha potentially fits the bulls need for a big defensive, slashing, gaurd who can play point when Hinrich is out of the game. But personally if we wanted that we could have traded for Jaric, or drafted Mardy Collins. Sefolosha seems like a lot of risk for comparitively low upside (to Carney).

Paxson IMO has a perfect record with first rounders so I'll give him the benifit of the doubt.

Sefolosha is a 22 year old professional basketball player that has played against grown men for the past 3 years. He's a player known for his work ethic and willingness to improve as a basketball player. 6 months ago he was projected as a mid-2nd rounder.

Carney is a former college player who played in the garbage Conference USA that has also had motivation issues his entire collegiate career. 6 months ago he was projected as a top-5 pick.

Just because the no one has seen the guy play means that he is a bad basketball player. Because I've seen enough of Carney to know that he is definitely a project player at the NBA level.

Don't get me wrong Carney is no super star, he just seems like a safer pick then Sefalosha. Guys with his athleticism and jump shot usually pan out (I still hold out hope for Luke Jackson).

Jarvis Hayes, Courtney Alexander and Ron Mercer all say hello. Carney reminds me of those players the most. All of those guys had decent athleticism and a solid jumpshot. But that's all they had. None of them are particularly quick with the ball in their hands, none of them are at the Vince/Tracy/Kobe,etc. level in terms of physical ability, none of them are really that great defensively.

I see Carney and I see a guy that is ok in all categories, but not special in any particular one. Like a Morris Peterson.

I see Sefolosha and I see someone with the length, quickness, intelligence and athleticism to become a Bruce Bowen-type defender someday. Not to mention the fact that he is a good passer, rebounder, and excellent ballhandler for his position.

What the Bulls need most from the SG position is defense against the Kobes and Vinces of the world, and someone to start the offense when Gordon is on the court. Sefolosha and Brewer were the 2 best fits for that role. Paxson chose Sefolosha.

I remember when the Bulls drafted Toni Kukoc. I was so pissed, I turned off the tv. I didn't know who the hell he was. That was in the second round. I've only seen highlights of Sefolosha and he looks athletic. Reports say he and Ronnie Brewer were the two best defensive guards in the draft. That's what we needed and we got it. Carney is not in the same category as these two guys. Carney is shorter. He's fast as all hell and can jump, but Sefolosha handles the ball better from the reports I read and like the other guy said...he's been playing against MEN, not kids. He's ready NOW, not 2 years from now. But what do I know. I said the Bulls would NEVER pick Tyrus Thomas. Well, technically they didn't pick him! Damn I'm good!!! Go Bulls! Loved their draft. All Bulls fans should be happy.

hi guys i come from biella, the place where sefolosha has played during the last year. i'm sure he's going to be a great player, maybe a specialist of the difense..he can play four roles and can difende almost against everybody..in the last year he had always to difende against the strongest man of the opposite team and he didn't mind if he was a guard or a forward.. he always did a great job..he is also a good rebaunder and passer and even if he's still not a good shoter he never misses a shot when it's important to score. He really have to improve his ball-handling but he can already play some minutes as a PG. I 've never seen Carney so i can't say wether paxson has made the right choice or not..they are two different palyer and it depends on what you really need.. anyway remember that Carney has played against 20 old years non professional guys, Thabo has played against player like Dejan Bodiroga.
