I like the Balkman pick. He was drafted too high, but he will mesh well with Mardy Collins. Balkman is like Bruce Bowen, and Collins is like a Derek Anderson or Aaron McKie. I think they had a fine first round, they just should have traded down the #20 and Steve Francis for a second rounder. One guard gone, 20 to go.
I like the Balkman pick too! I watched him his Sr. yr. He's got game, no doubt!
I don't think anyone can really say that Suns blew the draft. They didnt see anyone they liked available, and instead of giving a guaranteed contract to someone they didn't fancy, they were able to do dome 'house cleaning'.

Araujo wasn't even in this draft. Where have you been? He was drafted in 2004, duh! And there's no way he's worse than Freeland or Sene. He may not have worked out in Toronto, but he can still play basketball, something you can't say about Sene and Freeland.
Hey man, i dont know which Brazilian Beast you have been watching the past couple of years but Araujo cant play. The guy is a dumb lumbering goof with two left feet and a one inch vertical. And to boot a ugly wife. I havent seen a lot of stuff on Sene and Freeland, but what i have read suggests that they are athletic, and that in itself outclasses Rafeal Araujo who just cant compete due to his physical limitations.
Im a huge Orlando fan, thats why i hate to say that the worst pick in the first round was JJ Reddick, they got of drafted Rodney Carney, or Thabo Sefolosha whos turning out to be a pretty decent pick-up by Chicago, but instead Orlando went with Reddick who is set to be the next Trajan Langdon!

Your unhappy with the JJ Reddick??? How is that possible??? (At least your not a knicks fan like me. Renaldo Balkman wasn't my ideal pick)
1996 draft was huge, but there were some bad picks also.
22 i think was Efthimis Rentzias, not very good.
25 was Estonian (im from there) Martin Muursepp.
I he deserved more playing time, he spend only 3 years in NBA, and best what he got was 14min per game.
I still think he deserved more years, he was like Dirk Nowitzki, not as good shooting touch, but good all around bigman.
His stats tells what im talking about. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/martin....html?nav=page
He had good carreer in Europe, now plays in Estonia league for Tartu Rock.
But yeah not good choice if you look only his stats and playing time, but very good player still if would get little more time do adjust the speed of NBA.
saer sene is by far worst 1st round pick this year, and it's not even close, mark my words. knicks screwed with taking balkman at 20 when he could still be avalaible at 29, but he's at least f'in basketball player...sene is not.
