With Yao back, we will be able to dominate the middle, something we couldn't do with him out. With him roaming and dominated the middle, along with the emergence of Deke, and T-mac playing the way he was

Whenever you add a player like Yao, things change. A lot for the better, but some also for the worse. You can't expect that the Rockets will play exactly the way they did without Yao now with Yao. The offense will change, the defense will change. In particular, I can't see Deke playing as well with Yao back in the fold.

I'm in no way suggesting that the Rockets will be worse now that Yao is back, but I am saying that Rockets fans should expect changes.

Rockets do have a shot to win the 'ship. We'll just have to wait and see how the playoffs turn out. Either way, we have to get pass Dallas and/or Phoenix to get to where they want to be.

I love how Rockets fans just automatically assume that their team is getting to the second round. Your first round will be against either San Antonio or Utah, both teams that are more than capable of sending you home, especially if you overlook them. Rockets will be an underdog in their first round matchup; no one is going to hand the second round to them.

I would like to see him play. Honestly, I am surprised he is even close to playing this soon after his injury! Perhaps he will get a few minutes?

i'd rather rest him some more, the buggets arent a particularly good team and its just the regular season, is not like we desperatelly need this game, i'd rather have a 100% yao.

Isn't that what being a fan is all about? Total confidence in your team.

Of course nobody hands anything to anybody in the Playoffs. You can't deny that the Rockets are probably the one team in the playoffs that nobody wants to face, if healthy. The Best Defensive team will give anybody a handful. Not to mention that the Rockets excell at the half court game, which perfectly suits the Playoffs.

hey I'd rather play the spurs or the Jazz, between those two i'd rather play the Jazz. i don't think any team would want to play the spurs in the first round. I think we match up better against the Jazz. Yao would dominate the middle, because Okur or Boozer would actually have to guard someone, taking them out of the game, because they'd be tired from being pounded on from Yao. Samething for Yao we should be careful of who he guards, but I believe we'd beat either team with a healthy Yao and T-Mac, not a promise but I believe in the Rockets

I certainly wouldn't deny that nobody wants to play the Rockets. But nobody wants to play the Spurs or Jazz, either, and your team is going to have to. I'm just saying that Rockets fans shouldn't be worried about the Mavs, because they've got a lot of tough games to get through before the Mavs would even come into the picture.

So do the Spurs and Jazz.

I hardly think Boozer would get tired from being pounded by Yao. Maybe in the porno sense, but in terms of basketball, Yao is not exactly what I would call a traditional banger. Booze has more than enough muscle to keep from getting worn down.

As far as Okur is concerned, he may not be able to guard Yao (and really, who can?) but I have serious reservations about whether Yao would step out far enough to limit Okur's perimeter shooting. If he did, the paint would open up for Boozer.

a big if, unfortunately.

fair enough.

Do Okur and Boozer NOT guard people on a regular basis? Do they somehow refrain from playing defense so often that being forced to do it in the playoffs would be some new, extraordinarily physically taxing adventure?

A bit tired of hearing about Boozer and Okur on defense, actually. Neither are very good at it, but both are adequate. As a Jazz fan, I'd be far more worried about guarding McGrady than Yao.

As long as the Rockets are healthy, I see them beating the Jazz in the first round.

Second round will be: Mavericks vs. Rockets and Suns vs. Spurs.

I like it! The Rockets have a good chance to beat the Mavericks in my opinion. A much better chance then the Jazz.

Lakers fans that have logic give me hope. Thanks.

Yes, Rockets are an elite team. I hope yao plays again soon Because I dont have league pass and Rockets national games are all i get. Yao + Tmac = Domination. I only see the mavericks as the team to truly be able to beat the rockets.

The Spurs and Suns would beat the Rockets pretty easily in my opinion.

The Suns have always played well against the Rockets and Amare has ALWAYS owned Ming. They are just too fast for the Rockets defense to be that effective.

Plus, lets not forget that the Rockets are playing awful lately. They just lost to the Hawks and Celtics and got beaten by the Raptors worse then I've seen in a while. Halftime score was 67-47.

That does not sound like a team that is one Yao Ming from being champions. It sounds like a team that is one Yao Ming and one power forward away.

We have a winner folks. A guy that knows what he is watching.

This is exactly what the Jazz should worry about. Yao Ming well he'll have his hands full with Okur and Boozer, but McGrady, now there is the match up problem.

Remember, if the Jazz double McGrady, then Yao is going one on one against whomever, and history shows, that Yao usually wins one on one battles in the post.

T-mac is the biggest problem the Jazz will have against the Rockets, not Yao. They know they can double team Yao and disrupt him, but if they double team T-mac, it's over, especially since there is a 7'6 target waiting for the ball at the rim.
