comon NOW! lets not get carried away, there is a reason why he wasn't projected to go in the first round, or by draft time ranked amonst the top 50. The DayDreaming is real cute.... Comparable to Tyrus Thomas....errrrrrrrrright!

Don't get me wrong, I hope I'm wrong. Infact, I hope dude see's this post and it inspires him to play his ass off... But I'm a realist, and been disappointed by my loveable knick each year.

LOL. Lets let the man play 1 NBA game before we start comparing him to one of the greatest garbage men of all time!

It's a video of teh Gamecocks but it has some awesome plays from Balkman in them. towards the end. 2 dunks vs Louisville are awesome. This kid will be somehting but I would still have wanted Marcus...

nice find. good video. he looks real good, but then again its a highlight reel anyone can look good. dude looks like he has handles, which would be nice, and obviously can jump out the gym. but yea im with u i still wouldve taken marcus, he was exactly what we needed a real pass first pg. i had gotten over the balkman pick by 29, but then we go and take mardy a much worse pg who is yet another combo guard. remember when we had the problem with all the undersized pfs now we have waaaaaayyy too many combo guards none of which can really play pg, and are all shoot first, pad stats, play team ball and defense second. but clearly its way too early to rate these rooks lets just see what happens.

I don't watch college ball...so I'm gonna have to wait til the las vegas summer league starts to see how good our draft is...all the Knick games will be on MSG!

All I know is my friend was pissed we couldn't draft Tyrus Thomas and saying how good it could have been teamed up with Frye.

Well for one. Tyrus Thomas Helped lead his team to the final four. Was considered the best Raw Talent on his team, despite the publicity of Glen Davis. What the two have in common is that they are both huslters, known for their intangibles, rebounding and defense. BUT Tyrus Thomas has the edge on Renaldo Balkman in each statistical category, except for steals. Tyrus Thomas also has the height advantage.

Tyrus Thomas 6-9 215lbs
12.5 points, 9.2 Rebs, 3.1blks 1stls

Ronaldo Balkman: Although listed as 6-7 and other times as 6-6, he is really an undersized 6-5 198lbs undersized forward who averaged 9.6points 6.3 rebs, 1.3blks, 1.7 stls

Ronaldo Balkman is basically non-existent when it comes to scoring, and was regarded as the weakest skilled player on the courth, on his team. If he was the weakest skill on south carolina, what you think he's going to measure up to in the NBA (I hope I'm wrong).

Tyrus thomas though cannot shoot, has a mid-hook shot, and is a beast around the basket and in transition. Outstanding Rebounder, and the best shot blocker in college bball.

Theres your comparison. Put it like this. There is a reason why Tyrus Thomas was taken 4th overall.

Balkman is junk stop covering your shiiiity GM's ass.

You are the joke of the league and everyone on the board makes fun of the Knicks when they are mentioned.

well...I watched Balkman in the summer league games and I don't see him pulling down 15+ rebounds per game like Rodman used to do.

I guess the comparisons are more for his hustle on the court and defense.

balkman was a good pick the knicks need hustle guys because last year eddy curry and satrbury and the rest of so called stars on the team showed no heart the only people really playin were the rookies nate, channing, and lee so balkman will add defense and rebounding

mardy collins is a good pick too he has good playmaking ability, plays excellent defense, is always under control, and barely turns the ball over. i saw him play against duke he had like 25 points, seven boards, and 6 dimes he was nailing jumpers in dockerys face all day while jj had only 11 points he is a big game performer and knows how to run a team
