Sacramento Kings star Ron Artest was arrested Monday morning in his Loomis home on domestic violence charges, Placer County Sheriff's officials announced Monday.
Sheriff's officials are planning a 4 p.m. press conference to discuss the incident, which was reported in a 911 call at 9:23 a.m., officials said.
Deputies who responded to Artest's home found a woman who had called 911 and, after interviewing her and Artest separately, arrested the Kings player.
Artest was arrested a charge of domestic violence and of using force or violence to prevent his victim from reporting a crime, officials said. He was booked into the Placer County Jail.
I think he made a mistake, but a lot of people are overreacting. there was an argument, but the big mistake he made was preventing her from calling the police. he has not been suspended by the Sacramento Kings, he has been excused, and there's a big difference. meaning they'll excuse him as they continue to gather facts and information. but on the court this team can't stop playing the way they've been playing, they know they can win without Ron Artest on the team. btw, how do you know it was his wife?
this is nothing new. in 2004, ron took anger management classes for another incident involving he and his wife. in 2002, his wife took anger management classes for hitting ron. a lot of anger going on here, eh.
man this sucks for him...i dont think this means his contract is terminated yet...the trails is going to go on...but if hes found guilty, i wouldnt be surprised to see him do some time, because this is probation violation (pistons brawl)...i feel sorry for you guys...just when the kings started to put together a pretty good run for the playoffs...
by the way, if he can get into so much trouble in cities like indianapolis and sacramento, imagine him in LA or NY...i sware that was a concern when they were thinking about maggette-artest.

definitely, dissappointed in him, i mean knowing that the team is succeeding he should know better than to get into any trouble off the court. stuff like that is hard to back up, but you have to i guess.
