LOL you think Manziel has a better arm than Wilson?? Are you insane?

Also Wilson was a full 0.15 faster in the 40 yard dash time.

Intangibles = Leadership, dealing with the media, higher work ethic off, better off the field in general. Wilson was named a team Captain as a rookie. Won the starting QB job out of camp and by all accounts is an A+ teammate.

Manziel rushed for like 1,400 yards and 20+ TDs as a freshman

Wilson's rushing in college was in the 300 yards range

Manziel is faster than anyone in cone drills...he was faster than every RB except 1

straight line speed only says so much

Wilson's rushing was lower doesn't mean he's a worse athlete. He's just less inclined to take off.

Johnny is going to get injured a bit if he takes off much like Vick.

Watkins should be drafted by the Rams or Browns.

Let's say he is (even though he isn't) it still doesn't make him a better prospect than Wilson. Running ability is literally the least important attribute. You can't survive in the NFL running as often as Johnny did in college.

okay time out, you are aware that you are comparing Manziel to a SB winning QB right now correct? (who would EASILY go top-10 if the draft was redone)

if your mission is to say Manziel is a poor prospect you shouldn't be making this comparison...

if the 2012 draft was done over today, Wilson would go #3 overall

I am comparing him to (and saying he's much worse than) Russell Wilson THE PROSPECT (who i had a 2nd round grade on) NOT Russell Wilson the NFL player.

he isn't a worse prospect than Wilson but you willing to accept the fact that Wilson was NOT a 2nd round prospect in reality? but a legit top-10 prospect?

Lol.

I've typed many times....

Most important thing about an nfl Qb not named favre is what's between the ears.

Manziel s decision making is going to get him pummeled and picked in nfl.

and what makes you think Manziel lacks between the ears or makes poor decisions?

Yes he is. You have yet to give me a real reason why he isn't.

And no Russell Wilson was not a top 10 prospect or close to it. Just because he overcame the height issues doesn't mean Manziel will.

Lol. Seriously?

He takes off more than kap. One maybe two reads then bolts. Always looking to run also. Not looking to buy time to pass. The thing that Russell Wilson is best at. He scrambles to buy time to PASS. manziel doesn't go thru progressions and takes off trying to run for big yards. Not smart. Poor decisions. His little ass frame will get pummeled and picked in the pros always trying to make the huge top 10 play.

Wilson would go #3 overall if the draft was done over...like I said

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com...ussell-wilson/

Quote:
When Seahawks coach Pete Carroll talks to other NFL coaches, they often tell him how lucky he was to get quarterback Russell Wilson in the third round of the 2012 NFL draft — and they tell Carroll that they were hoping they could draft Wilson.

“It’s real common for people to say, ‘Hey, we loved that guy too,’” Carroll said today at his press conference in New Jersey.

Of course, every team can say in hindsight that Wilson was high on its draft board. Only one G.M., Seattle’s John Schneider, sent in a draft card with Wilson’s name on it. Carroll said Schneider loved Wilson so much heading into the draft that he would have chosen him earlier, but the Seahawks decided to gamble on Wilson still being available when they drafted in the third round, No. 75 overall. And Carroll praised Schneider for the way he handled the draft.

“John Schneider led the charge on this thing. John had it pegged perfectly where it happened for us. He had been sweating it out in the second round,” Carroll said.

Carroll said Schneider kept it quiet, even within the Seahawks’ building just how much he liked Wilson. And that made it nerve-wracking in Seattle as they sat in their draft room waiting to see if anyone else would pick him.

“It was really exciting for us,” Carroll said.

The NFL would look very different right now if some other team had chosen Wilson. (And especially if the Broncos had chosen Wilson in the second round, when they instead chose to select Brock Osweiler as Peyton Manning’s backup.) But Schneider made the call on Wilson in the third round, and as a result, Carroll is coaching Wilson in the Super Bowl.
