This team still badly needs another starter. You can't go an entire season with Happ + whichever scrub they choose to trod out at #5 in the rotation. Not both.

No doubt about it.

I'm becoming more willing to use Aaron Sanchez in a deal, dude has some serious command issues.

I've been on the trade Aaron Sanchez train since early this season. As long as it's not him plus guys like Stroman or Norris. Only one of the high end pitching prospects.

Like you said though, Sanchez is kinda shitting the bed with his poor command. I still can't believe some people were calling for him to start with the Jays going into this year. That would've been Kyle Drabek part 2.

Nice sweep against the A's. The pitching and defense played really well.

We could have upped the offer, or offered a multiyear deal. Or offered the deal earlier. AA was greedy because he didn't have any competition on the market, but he failed to foresee the likelihood of another team having injury issues in ST.

Sanchez will figure it out as long as they don't rush him. My preference is to trade Stroman.

The way the Jays can just platoon the shit out of opposing teams is the best part. Lefty pitcher? That's ok. Tolleson, Kratz, Pillar... you guys are in. Righty? Go have fun Francisco, Lind and Gose.

This team is fun to watch right now, but I think all of us are just hoping there's no implosion in the near future. The names we have heard on the trade block have all been guys that either we have no chance of getting or cost too much and I wouldn't be comfortable adding Sanchez and Stroman.

Samardzija's asking price is way to high. He has pitched incredibly well this year, but I don't think he's a real ace and no way I'd give up both Stroman and Sanchez for both (previously I wasn't even comfortable giving either one of them)

We're not getting Price. TB won't trade him in the division.

Would love to get Shields, asking price would be astronomically high; also would be a rental.

There was a rumored name in the off-season that I would love to get would be Chris Sale. No idea why CWS would be looking to move him (don't think they would be at this point), but that's the type of pitcher I would be okay with dealing Stroman and Sanchez. A player with a manageable contract and is locked up for the next few years. With Rasmus and Melky in line to hit FA this fall, they could both net us first rounders if they leave (and get no contract extension) to lessen the blow of losing two prospects.

What an exciting way to get your 9 straight win and 3rd straight sweep.

Hendriks vs Archer and the Jays still win. Team of destiny, confirmed.

during this winning streak, jays have won games where they haven't pitched well, and won games where they haven't hit well. Also 3 game sweep of the Rays? Is this real life?

- just as an aside, I wouldn't have sent the runner (Pillar) there. 2nd and 3rd with nobody out versus 1 out and runner on 2nd (possibly 3rd). It obviously worked out there, but it's too big of a gamble to take I think.

I totally agree. It was one of those "Fck it, we've won 8 straight. It's obviously going to work" moves. Sweet.
