Default Where do you think Bill Russell ranks all-time?

And where do you think he would rank if he played in today's game?

Wow, tough question... the guy was nails and he was a tough competitor... I'd have to say he would have been a top 10 player even today. Its such a different game now that its just hard to say IMO.

Better than a prime Shaq, Duncan? He wasn't much of an offensive player.

Top 5-10 alltime.

Not going to go for the second question though as it really isn't fair and would only get me labelled a *****.

He played in a different era of hoops......but he was sensational in his era and anchored a dynasty.

Wherever he is, it is at the top or very near it.....

today shaq and duncan arent exactly in their primes so i think russell could be number 1 in today's league.

all-time he is around top 6-8.

Shaq isn't in his prime today. When you ask "today" mean it. Don't post what you don't mean and waste Don's time

Don't worry, you're entitled to your opinion.

Let's say Bill Russell is the Bulls Center in place of Wallace (not that I'm comparing them), do you think that team would win any championships? I personally think if he played in today's game without HOFers on his team he wouldn't rank top 25 all time. Based on his skillset and individual talent.

i'd put him after mj, kareem, wilt, maybe magic, larry, and shaq, so 4 to 7 range.

today i have no idea. he might have grown up watching mchale and hakeem and developed the greatest array of post moves ever to go with his d. or not. you can't know.

last year he was voted (by the pundits) as the greatest center of all time.
so....I would have to say he is right there near the top.
