Don't be stupid. You can only pick up Ernie OR Bert, choose one.

Ernie has more skill, but Bert has a lot more street hunger.

Bert and Ernie are solid defenders with good fundamentals, but their upside is limited. Snuffaluffagus (or however you spell it) is a better pick. He has better size and length, and and his low post game has developed quite a bit. All in all, he has tremendous upside. At #8 overall, you have to take a risk and go for the guy who can be a superstar in a few seasons.

But you have to look at all the other Snuffleupagus style picks over the past few years. They come in with a ton of hype and upside, but nex thing you know they just end up being the next elmo.

True. However, look at how it worked out with Big Bird. He was a late lottery pick, and many were skeptical that he could even hold his own in the low post with those skinny legs, but he has shown that he can be a force on both ends of the court. His team would not win half as many games as they do without him. Snuffaluffagus is definitely a risk. Teams have to worry about whether he'll have the endurance to play in the L, but he has the potential to be a true impact player. On top of that, his trunk gives him a limb more than most players out there.

I guess it just depends on what you're looking for.

Neither Bert or Ernie will be superstars, but they'll play solid d, give you great fundamentals, and be nice glue guys.

Snuff has superstar potential, but who knows if he'll be able to capitalize.

Elmo is hands down the next MJ of our generation. With his speed and quickness he is capable of "mad hops" and therefore is able to dunk like no other. Snufflelufugus, though a solid defender, will have much trouble scoring and his trynk will pick him up many fouls
