Forward Becomes D-League’s 15th Gatorade Call-Up This Season

Philadelphia 76ers President Billy King announced today that the Sixers have signed forward Louis Amundson to a 10-day contract.

“Louis is someone I have liked since last year,” said King. “His toughness and rebounding will compliment our other big men.”

Earlier this season, the 6-foot-8 forward became the ninth Gatorade Call-Up from the D-League when he signed a 10-day contract on Feb. 5 and a second 10-day contract on Feb. 19 with the Utah Jazz. Amundson appeared in one game with the Jazz, logging two minutes.

In a stint with the Colorado 14ers (D-League), the UNLV product averaged 11.1 points, 7.6 rebounds and 2.48 blocks in 25.0 minutes in 25 games, while shooting 56.3 percent (117-208 FG). This season 12 different D-League players have been called-up a total of 15 times.

Amundson will wear No. 20.

amundson played for UNLV last year
I saw one game against Utah two or three years ago, and it was fun: he ain't nothing special, but he's got that kind of energy, of dedication, that makes you like players.
He's a nice shotblocker. I always thought it would've been nice if he made it, but i did not think it could really happen.
If he sticks with this team, even as eternal 15th man, I'll be happy :)
