Default Question for hip hop heads

I read about rappers making $50K to $100K for a verse. And producers charging same amount for a beat.

How is this even possible? Especially with all the guest spots and features on a rapper's album. Add the sampling fees and shit too. Production must cost like $5 million to make. Don't forget that the entire industry isn't like it was 15 years ago.

Are they just exaggerating shit like they usually do? For real, I'm actually interested to know the inside hip-hop biz is like.

<-----fan of the College Dropout/LR Kanye, Lil B, Beasties so I'm really not what you'd consider a true hp-hop fan.

Been watching a lot of clips of the Breakfast Club on youtube. Videos are too long to find excerpts. Anyway, there was an interview with 2 Chainz and he said he gets $100K a verse. I'm like really?

You seriously going to take the word of that clown? Today's rap game is all about over hyping everything to put yourself over with the fans.

I am disappoint.

Not just him but from various rappers. Like I said, they usually exaggerate a lot of shit but why though? Like how they own their cars but in reality, they just renting.

Why tell lies? Why not keep it real?

A guy like Lil B gets clown on but at least he keeps it real.

Always wanted to be in the music industry, behind the scenes and shit.

If I'm ever a hip-hop insider I wanna make it as real as possible. I wanna change the game!
