NBA was loaded with international players this season
A record 92 international players — from 38 countries and territories — played in the NBA this season, and the Blazers-Spurs series possesses the most international players of any in postseason, featuring 12 players from nine countries. Three (Batum, Parker and Diaw) are French.
Parker and Diaw have gotten the better of Batum and the Blazers so far in the semifinals. Parker’s dynamic Game 1 performance set the tone for a dominant two-game run by a Spurs team that has looked like the best team in the NBA in the series. But Batum did his part in Game 2, finishing with 21 points and nine rebounds, while making 9 of 13 shots, in a quietly efficient performance.
