Default Big Al as a first option?

Look at the last five or six wins, do you think Big Al is better off as the first option? I don't mean Al is going to be our new Pierce, Pierce is going to score his nightly 25-30 no matter what, but do you think we're better off going to Al before anyone else? He's been scoring and rebound huge lately, and that also includes a ton of clutch baskets at the end of games. Is it too early to say we should start building around Pierce and Jefferson? I don't know, man, I love Jefferson, and I think he's going to be a perennial all-star in a year or two.

Thoughts?

no way... now he's still the 2nd option... when Wally comes back he probably have to be 3rd or share the load with Wally... Gerald Green is there too...

I don't know if he's quite going to supersede Pierce but he should definitely be a higher priority than Szczerbiak. Szczerbiak is at his best when he's playing catch and shoot off the ball, plus, like Pierce and most of the other scorers on this team he's a perimeter player. Getting the ball inside to Jefferson creates balance to the offense, forcing the d to collapse inward onto him and making for easier shots for perimeter players like Szczerbiak. I'd give Jefferson the ball almost every possession that he's out there and there's no fast break or easy score available, let him work the d a little bit, force the d to come to him and then, if they cut off his scoring opportunity, get the ball to whichever shooter comes open off the defensive rotation. Half-court offense is generally more effective when you can play it inside-out.

Al could be the top option someday but like any good big he'll need shooters to kick out too.

For now, its stll PP though...
