Were the Broncos really better than the Pats? IIRC Pats had 44 punts, Broncos had 65 and a ton of more possessions than the Pats.

I judge an offense by few weaknesses they have and the 1998 Vikings were unstoppable. Even the two games they lost, they were scoring at will.

Also 2000 Rams had a better offense then the 1999 Rams IMO. 1999 Rams had a lot of defensive touchdowns.

2007 Pats - held in check in the super bowl, lost

2013 Broncos - shut down in the super bowl, lost

1999 Rams - held in check in the super bowl, won barely

Goes to show you that teams can get prepared in 2 weeks for an elite offense.

Tony Dungy and the Bucs D were even more impressive stopping them in the NFC title game than the Titans in the DB

All-time and no mention of the peak 49ers teams?

I mean, the 2013 Broncos were good and all, but they were completely and totally shut down in the Super Bowl. The 1989 49ers put up 55 points in a laugher against a Broncos team who had the No. 1 ranked defense in the entire NFL.

They had everything you want in an offense, starting with the coaches (HC Bill Walsh, OC Mike Holmgren).

Personnel-wise, they had no weakness.

Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, John Taylor, Roger Craig, Tom Rathman, Brent Jones, and an incredible line. Hell, even their backup QB was a future HOFer.

They went 14-2, averaged 28 points a game in the regular season, and their playoff run went like this...

Divisional - 41-13 over Minnesota
NFC Championship - 30-3 over LA Rams
Super Bowl - 55-10 over Denver

Yeah, tough to beat these guys.

If you put this team in the era of zero contact allowed with the WRs, and the ability for guys to run over the middle without having to worry about getting decapitated, they put up 35-40 points a game and probably score 75 in the SB.

Ronnie Lott would have to switch his game up a bit on the other side of the ball, though.

Moss was at his peak in 2007. Or dame close to it.

He was motivated.

I'd say the '07 Patriots as well.

They scored 3.37 points per possession.

This years Broncos scored 2.98

'99 Rams scored 2.45

'98 Vikings scored 2.92

No comparison really.

'07 Pats imo...GSOT has a case as well...And if people are gonna play the "rules are much more favorable towards offense nowadays" card...i better see the seahawks defense near the top of your all time great defenses..
