Might as well not harp on him being underated or else he'll become overated like Marion.

Yes... and it hurts even more to see Iggy playing like a star lately

Ford | Calderon
Parker | Dixon
Iggy| Mo Pete
Bosh | Garbo
Rasho | Bargnani

deng is solid but i'm not sure if he has it in him to be a #1 option on a good team... but his team will constantly be in the playoffs so he'll get many opportunities to show the world if he can do it.

After eliminating JHo and Caron from the discussion, i'd have to say that after Bron and Melo, it comes down to Deng and Iggy for me.

I'll call the cut-off for "young" the age of 24, because by the age of 25 most players have shown what kind of player they're going to be and how good they're going to get.

Smith doesn't defend as well as Deng. He blocks shots off of athletic ability but isn't a true intimidator in the paint like a TD or Mutombo while Deng is a great one-on-one defender, a shutdown guy. Smith does rebound better but on the subject of shooting, how do you know that Deng won't improve as a shooter as well? He's still only 21.

He isn't an intimidator? First of all he isn't a center so he isn't in the paint as often. When he is in the paint he alters shots and changes games. He is quick enough to stalk point guards going for easy fast break shots and throws them into the stands. He is the youngest ever to achieve 500 blocks. He also avg more spg than Deng. Josh also avg 15ppg game despite almost never having plays run for him. Only with the Joe Johnson injury have we have been able to truly see his vast scoring potential. Just the other night he out dueled Kevin Garnett and had two big blocks that sealed the game.

Young guy from the Spanish national team, still playing in Europe. He's basically a younger, arguably more athletic, version of Manu.

"Youngest player ever to" statistic mean nothing when it comes to high school players. IF he was truly this game-changing force when defending in the paint then he'd be put there more often but he's not. He's a 3/4 hybrid that doesn't have the size to stop a true big and that's why he's not a great defender, just a good help defender. He doesn't shut down his man like Deng and isn't going to alter the opposing gameplan like a great shot blocker would. "Vast scoring potential?" Nonsense. He can't even dribble. He's basically a young Shawn Marion.
