Anyway, Raptors have little playoff experience and if they're lucky, they'll lose to the Bulls in the first round. Yeah, and if they're not so lucky, they'll get murdered. Bosh will choke, and all those rookies are going to flop in a playoff environment where you need experience and charisma. Savor the moment Raptor fans...because the streak's ending soon.

I don't expect they will do well this year in the playoffs. Does not take a genius to figure that out with their inexperience.

All I care about is the long term picture when they have more experience and are starting to seriously contend for a conference title and possibily NBA championship. It takes time. They are way better than last year and getting better. Bosh and Bargnani in 3 - 5 years are going to be a scary combo to play against.

The combo of Bosh and Bargnani will definitely in 3-5 years be better than any 2 of those 9 players. You nets fans will disagree which is fine, but the Raptors strength is not any one individual player, but the overall team makeup and the way the Raptors play with a team mentality.

The most important factor as to why the Raptors will for years to come be a better team than the Nets is the fact that BRYAN COLANGELO is the best GM in the league.

But regardless of what the Raptors do.....Nets fans seem to discount the fact that the Nets core players are getting old Kidd, Carter and to a lesser extent RJ. In 3-5 years all those players are considerably older than the Raptors core of T.J., Bosh and Bargnani.

I know the Raptors will not win the East this year, but as for the title of the thread, if it is considered in the present the Raptors are a better team. The respective records of both teams show that. PLEASE NO EXCUSES ABOUT INJURIES. THE RAPTORS HAVE HAD THEIR FAIR SHARE but somehow remain atop the Atlantic despite their horrendous start of 2-8.

P.S. you guys want no piece of the Raptors in the playoffs, the Raps will win a playoff series just like they won the season series.

Dude, get your facts straight. The Raptors did not win the season series. We won 2 games, and you won 2 games.

And for the 1000000th time, you guys have little playoff experience, while we have a lot. The postseason is different from the regular season. You can't just translate season wins into saying who's better. That's called being naive. For example, I would easily pick the Lakers the beat the Jazz in a best of 7 series, even though Utah has the better season record right now. If we were to face you in the playoffs, then chances are we would win because we're familiar with playoff type atmosphere. Experience plays a huge role. If it didn't, then Miami would not have been last year's champion.

the Raptors do have a brighter future than the Nets right now, but it's nothing a little wheeling and dealing can't fix for the Nets.

but honestly, the Raptors are soft mentally and will not go far in the playoffs this season., next year, get a new coach get more experience, and they can possibly get somewhere.

but if the Nets play the Raptors this year, Krstic or no Krstic, it will be a hard fought series, but the nets will prevail due to experience.

hehe, some really funny material, there.

the idea that RJ is aging is great.

also the idea that something that looks good on paper means that it will turn into something great is cute, altho not very original.

sports is littered with teams that had white-hot futures and then fell apart for one reason or another. you people, and i'm not referring to just raps fans, never seem to take that into account. the clips are right around the corner from 'greatness' every year. detroit has one of the canniest GM's in the league and was going to be a dynasty two years ago, so what happened? chicago was going to be a juggernaut this season until, well... until the season got underway.

but hey, optimism leads to happiness, right?

sure, colangelo is a good GM... er no, wait a minute, he's "the best"? um, sorry, i forgot about all those championships he's won. er, i mean all the conference titles... er, well... division titles maybe? oh right, his greatness lies in his potential, not his accomplishments. okay, i got it now. :)

anyway yea, he's a good GM with a promising young team. and guess what? that only applies to about 25% of the teams in the league. that also applied to rod thorn five years ago and he at least managed to get two conference titles out of it. colangelo will be fortunate if he can do the same.

but, you know... one day you will understand this stuff a little better. one day you will get used to having a good basketball team and then your team will have a disappointing season. then you can come talk to us and we'll prolly give you a little more respect (and sympathy).

yes. RJ is 26 and entering his prime. though it was derailed by injury this year and people expected more from him.

Kidd at 34 is still producing phenomenal numbers and could have Stockton like longevity.

Carter has adjusted his game now to conserve energy and find ways to continue to either take it to the hole or create a jumpshot for himself.

I would agree with that, except his point production and fg% have been absolutely horendous since the all-star break. I feel it's unexcusable to miss a triple double because you can't score 10 points.

well, the way I look at it is Kidd is a streak shooter, who now conserves his energy so he plays spot up a lot rather than creating off dribble penetration, and the fact that he went 2-8 and only mustered 5 points did not deter him from defense and doing the other things he could.

still... I would agree that his scoring could be higher.

And if you may, please do shut it down. It doesn't seem right having a "The Raptors are better than the Nets" thread in the NETS forum.
