The Allan Ray PG Experiment: Good Idea, or Stupid Waste of Time?
Last night the Cs tried Ray at the point in-game and it's apparently going to be an ongoing experiment. I'm not 100% against it but with Rondo, west, and Telfair already splitting up duties wouldn't it be hard to try and teach four guys one position? Ray apparently is finally finding his niche (shooter off the bench) and pretty much looks like a limited Delonte West (not as good a passer, defender, or athlete, also shorter). He's never been a pg before, so unless he's a natural and no one in Villanova noticed before making him a 1 will be difficult. This reminds me of last season's Tony Allen pg plan, which was also a waste of time. I'd rather have Rondo and west split the minutes and let Ray just be a shooter, which is more natural for him anyway. Any dissenting opinions?
