Default Stephen Curry makes 2013-14 All-NBA Second Team

Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry has been named to the All-NBA Second Team for the 2013-14 season, the league announced today. The All-NBA selection is the first of Curry’s career and also marks the first time the Warriors have had a player named to the First or Second Team since Latrell Sprewell earned First Team honors in 1993-94. Following David Lee’s inclusion on the All-NBA Third Team in 2012-13, Curry gives the Warriors an All-NBA representative in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 1992-93 (Tim Hardaway) and 1993-94 (Sprewell).

Curry, 26, appeared in 78 regular-season games this season, averaging career highs of 24.0 points (seventh in the NBA) and 8.5 assists (fifth) while shooting 42.4 percent from three-point range (eighth), leading the NBA in three-pointers made (261) for a second consecutive campaign. Curry is the first player to lead the league in threes in back-to-back seasons since Ray Allen did so in 2001-02 and 2002-03 and became the first player in Warriors history to average 24 points and eight assists in a single season.
