Does anyone remember the knick net rivalry that started to develop in the Derrick Coleman era?
I remember watching some intense games back then. I specifically remember one play where greg anthony drove to the basket and DC went for the block. He ended up getting anthony in a head lock and basically DDT'd him into the padding of the goal post. Good times.
Remember when Chris Morris would shatter backboards doing is gigantic tomahawk dunks?
Remember Drazen Petrovic's signature pump fake, chest pump and one jump shots?
How about Chucky Brown, what a character. I remember him just randomly dunking the ball on our own basket before a free throw for the visiting team. LOL
Chucky Brown. Yea he was a solid role player on the Nets back in the early 90s. I remember Chuck Daly referring to him as "A Godsend". High praise. Probably too high.
Ah yes the Chris Morris 'era'. He was around for a minute. I remember Chris Morris was known for taking halfcourt shots with perfect form during pregame shootarounds. That's some range. Still...he kinda sucked.
Yeah, they weren't great, but that is the first team that got me into the nets. I think it was Derrick Coleman, Kenny Anderson, Drazen Petrovic, Sam Bowie and Chris Morris as the starting lineup. Back then, I think I was in 7th grade, they could do no wrong in my mind.
