Default OSU's RON LEWIS

Think Ron Lewis from Ohio State upped his stock in the 2007 draft after playin huge for the Buckeyes in their win against Xavier..

When he hit the three to tie i was shocked like DAM!

Scoring 27 on Xavier in the NCAA tournament probably helped get more spotlight but I don't think anyone is going to use a second round pick on him. He's pretty inconsistent. He's a solid player but doesn't doing anything particularly well. How's he defensively?

NBA teams don't draft people just to play in the last 30 seconds of close games. It's a nice plus but he's not a particulary good scorer at least not consistently. He's shooting 40% from the field and 32% behind the college arc. This is looking like it's going to be a deep draft year as well, further inhibiting his chances. Just because you're a pretty good player in college doesn't mean you're NBA material. Lee Humphrey is a much better shooter than Ron Lewis will ever be but I don't even think Lee has a chance to get drafted.

yea Humphrey can just shoot 3's kinda like Redick...Redick didn't have a complete game in college and thats whats hurting him in the NBA...anyway Lewis is a complete player he can drive, shoot and play some D....idk if that will transfer to him being on the draft board tho.... you gotta think scouts fo teams are watchin the madness and see how he can help their club

I agree....

Some points on Ron's game:

- He possesses a NBA ready body of that is stronger than most players his size in college
- Capable of converting some difficult finishes around the basket
- Explosive scorer who can drop serious points
- He can get to the basket and draw fouls by creating contact on defenders
- Solid pull-up jumper off the dribble
- Clutch player who can make big shots in critical moments of games
- He is an underrated rebounder
- He is a weak defender but has all the tools to develop that side of his game, except for size.
- Has no mid-range game and sometimes settles for an outside jumper
- Questionable shot selection
- hasn't got great court vision
- needs to improve quickness

Ron is an NBA ready player; he has a scorer’s mentality and would be an asset to any NBA bench. It would not take long for him to develop his defensive game to the point where he can play NBA minutes.
He is a definite 40-50 draft second round selection and may even surprise some people and go earlier.
He reminds me of Vernon Maxwell in 94-95, in the way that he can score, and who wouldn’t want Vernon Maxwell on their bench?

I would be surprised if he got drafted...I see him playing in the D-League and maybe getting a few 10-day contracts in a few years
