Sure MJ may have a slight edge, but the executives need to get over it.

I'd be pissed, as someone who believes strongly in the importance of character and other "non-game" traits of players.

Two very good points.

draft lottery. best players go to lottery winners. unless someone rigs the lottery (cough * knicks * cough), all the best prospects have little no control over their destination.

regardless, GMs are painting Jordan as the evil mastermind who is telling Durant and other prospects to:

1) play like crap on purpose

2) don't enter hte draft yet, screw over Boston! they made the locker rooms unbearable when I went to whup asss at the Garden on a consistent basis back in the day

Link to this was on the front page of yahoo:

Kinda big. I'll just post the first couple of paragraphs, but there's a LOT of quotes from league GM's....

The new Jordan rules

Several NBA team executives are angry with what they call an unfair advantage that Charlotte Bobcats minority owner Michael Jordan has due to his exclusive access to future NBA prospects in his Jordan Brand All-American high school game and Flight School camps, and they want the commissioner's office to forbid his involvement.

Across the league, executives are decrying what they consider to be the new "Jordan Rules" of the NBA.

Like Blaze said, the only way this is even really slightly an advantage is if say 3 teams have the same cap and the Cats are one of them and they ultimately choose that relationship with MJ.

However, how big a role do you think that will really play. I mean I doubt he develops that huge a relationship with any of the kids, over a couple of days at a camp or practicing to where 6-8 years down the line they'd choose to go to Charlotte if there is a better situation out there. If they do it would be because he's Michael Jordan, and they knew and admired MJ before a few days at a camp 7 years prior.
