1. Yes, it's okay for anyone to play video games as long as it's on their spare time. You don't want your parents to be skipping work to play on your PS3.

2. Because most of the games are show cased for children and teenagers. It looks foolish for an adult to be playing video games. Shows how much of a life you have.

3. I'm not a big video game guy. When I do hit up game stores I get sport games with a little action mixed into it.

4. First game I played as a child had to be Super Mario World on Super Nintendo.

5. Probably stop when I get a family

6. Because their wives won't give them sex.

7. Nothing, I like games like that.

1. Is it okay for adults to play video games? Yes its a form of entertainment for adults. Escape reality, work, relieve stress, occupy idle time.

2. Why do people hate on adults playing video games? If an adult plays video games all the time and it interfers with real responsibilities then its a problem. If you have kids, wife you neglect. You dont take care of bills, you arent punctual because you play video games a lot whether its waking up late for work due to an all nighter or what have you. Those are some reasons why playing video games as an adult can be bad. A teenage may play video games and neglect thier studies, homework, chores. Thats not good but its not comparable to an adult neglecting thier responsibilities because those are more and often serious/real.

3. What types of games do you normally buy? Sports mostly and occasionally action. Something like Metal Gear Solid, Grand Theft Auto...not Halo, Resident Evil types.

4. What was the first game you played as a child? Vectrex cant think of the actual game i played. But that was the first system and on it was a default game I believe. It came with these colorful plastic screens you put over the monitor face that gave it color/light.

5. Will you ever stop playing video games? I dont play them much now. I have Ps2 and have Madden, NCAA Football, Godfather and Grand Theft Auto triology. Thinkin bout Xbox 360 but the holdup is i dont play video games as much as i used too. So i think it could be a waste of $400+ (games as well). I'll still have the urge to play but there may come a day when i dont own a system. My cousin got me ps2 for xmas. If not i wouldnt have a up to date system.

6. Why is there a growing number of young adults playing video games? Enjoyment also the birth of online play has become very popular. To be able to play more people instead of your friends, family...you now can play a number of people all over to test your superiority vs them.

7. When playing games with lots of violence, offensive language, and sexual nudity, what would you do to change the way those kinds of games are made? Nothing...mature audiences.

1.Yes its OK. But I find that there is less and less time to play as your responsibilities grow with age.

2. People who hate on us are the same ones who grew up without games. The next generation will be different. It'll be perfectly acceptable form of entertainment for all ages much like Movies and TV. It's already gotten waaay more mainstream than it was back in the 16 bit era.

3. I like RTS, FPS, and RPGs. But I gotta pick and choose due to time constraints. My last pickup was FEAR, and I'm gonna get C&C 3 as soon as it comes out. My wife plays some games so we were gonna get a wii as soon as they become more available.

4. I can't remember. I used to play a lot of sierra's games like king quest, police quest etc). But I guess the first game would have to have been in the arcade. It was either Pac Man, Donkey Kong or 1942 ( a wwII old school top down shooter).

5. Hopefully not.

6. Because we grew up playing them.

7. I wouldn't change them. Violence and Sex are OK by me as long as they have context. Even if they don't have context I got no issues. I just won't buy it because it's probably a stupid game. Parents & senators who ***** about games being too violent should take a look at their sorry-ass self-absorbed lives and pay attention to what their kid are doing and the big ratings symbol on the game box.

i recall reading an article which spoke of people leaving their spouses because they fell in "love" with someone they played online with in one of those MMOs.
I believe there was a whole website dedicated to supporting spouses of idiots who waste their lives away on those games at the expense of ignoring their spouses. IT was widows of evercrack or something like that. Now that is extreme but fortunately its also not the norm either.

1. I think the cut-off should be around 30-35.
2. It's about the perception that they have no life and not doing the things that regular adults at that point in their life should be doing(i.e. starting a family and providing for family)
3. Sports, FPS, Action platform.
4. Mario
5. Yes, when there are better things to do such as playing golf and traveling.
6. Addicting online games are now being designed for the young adult age level (but those youngins stil find a way to play games like Gears of War, GRAW).
7. If their targets are young adults, they should change nothing.

P.S. When you are trying to meet new women, do they find men who play games attractive? (Im talking about women who don't play games them selves)

I've only ever found one girl who thought playing video games was a good thing. All the rest thought they were for losers and children. I think they just don't like them because they take the guys attention away from them.

If a chick didn't want to get with me because I play videogames, wouldn't want to be with her anyways. Generally speaking, you definitely want a women to like you for who you are (your hobbies, interests, etc), not some guy pretending to be a perfect square. All this "cut off age" stuff is nonsense, enjoy your life the way you want to enjoy it. I can understand playing videogames too much getting out of hand, but just playing it from time to time should be fine. Who's to say hopping on the couch and playing a game sometimes is detracting from the rest of your life? My dad played video games with me when I was young, I see no reason why I shouldn't do the same with my kids. If anything, these games promote good hand-eye coordination, and in some cases a good amount of strategic thinking. Not to mention some stress relief or whatever else it may provide... I don't think I'll ever get to the age where I'm "too old" for video games. I might put alot less emphasis on it, because of children or other obligations, but as technology continues to grow, I can definitely see myself sticking to my game-playing-roots.

1. As long you have your priorities straight and take care of what you're supposed, nothing wrong with playing. It's when you neglect your wife/family and let it affect how you live that it's a problem.

2. Because when video games first came out, it was mainly children and teenagers who were playing it. Thing is, now all those children and teens are grown up now but they still like video games. Some give it up because they think of it as child's play, others try to reclaim their childhood by playing.

3. Fighting, Action, Basketball simulation and b-ball arcade(NBA Street Series)

4. Super Mario/Duck Hunt on NES

5. I'm sure I will, I don't play as much now that I'm married, gotta have fun with the wife. But when I want to unwind and get my mind off some drama I'll play or watch movies. Most likely when we start having kids I'll limit my playing even more, gotta watch what you expose your kids to.

6. Most young adults now had older siblings who played, and they wanted to play their games(at the expense of their own toys, because Big Brother's toys are always cooler than their own). Plus games are getting way more sophisticated than 20 years ago.

7. As far as changing the game itself, that wouldn't be much change, either have it in there or don't. What they should change is one or both things:

A)Put an age limit on mature games like you do alcohol or porn, and actually enforce it. If a movie's got nudity, you don't sell it to minors, so why should it be different for a game that has nudity? Problem is the over 17 rule is only enforced at the movies, not the stores even if they sell movies. If lawmakers are really worried about it, then be consistent.

B)Parents should stop being on the sideline with their kids' lives and and start looking at what your kids are into. That's a big part of the reason why kids are out of control, because the parents are punking out. You can't get on your kids for playing a game you don't approve it if you let them get it. Don't be a punk about it, if they wanna cry and pout, let them. Don't fall for the puppy dog eyes and yelling and screaming. You're not there to win their approval, you're there to raise them right. Stop trying to be their friend and be a parent. You're the ones who brought them in this world, so take care of them until they're ready to go out on their own.

(EDIT: When I say put an age limit, I meant put one on who can buy it. If there not old enough to play it, they shouldn't be old enough to buy it, which leads to point B.)

1. It's OK for you, not for me. When I was a teenager I noticed I could not talk on the phoine with a girl and play the game at the same time. I missed out on getting some botty on more than one occasion. Probably missed out on a money making opportunity or two too. No way as an adult would I let that happen.

2. I don't. I encourage other adults to play video games. It gives me another advantage in the ultimate game called life.

3. None. Gamers just seem to go along with the program. I beleive that all the graphics and technical features introduce in today's video games were available years ago. They just add them on little by little to keep people coming back for more. Ask your self this; why would a game disk cost almost three times as much as a dvd movie. I purchased a dvd movie 5 years ago for $15 and still to this day I can pop it in the DVD player and watch it. Meanwhile that $200 video game console is collecting dust in my son's room and that $55 video game disk is erased from my memory. I have no idea where it is.

4. Techmo Bowl

5. Done that. I feel like, what's the point? What do I get out of using my two thumbs and two pointer fingers rapidly pressing buttons? Ok Nintendo Wii added a little more body involvement to playing a video game, but like I said, that probably could have been done years ago. I'm not impressed. I rather go out and play a sport than play it on a video game. I'd rather watch a real game live or in person than watch someone play a video game.

6. I guess people are really into video games

1. Is it okay for adults to play video games?
yes why not? in America we have a choice to do what we want.
2. Why do people hate on adults playing video games?
stereotypes that adults should always be working on more professional things or playing golf in their spare time. but the next generation should not suffer this opinion.
3. What types of games do you normally buy?
adventure games. something that lasts a long time.
4. What was the first game you played as a child?
Super Mario Bros for NES
5. Will you ever stop playing video games?
when they stop making adventure games. can't stand those damn shooters.
6. Why is there a growing number of young adults playing video games?
cheap (relatively speaking compared to some of the crazy things wealthier people do) fun entertainment.
7. When playing games with lots of violence, offensive language, and sexual nudity, what would you do to change the way those kinds of games are made?
they are already labelled for 18+. if you want some of it, you gotta pay for it and then it becomes YOUR business. it's not like you see an ad for an adult rated game.
