I should've rephrased that. He obviously plays defense, but it's not like he's at the top of the league in it. He blocks shots, that's it.
Iggy gets steals and he's a better 1v1 defender. Hmm...
I'm not trying to imply it's not close, but personally, I like Iggy.
Not to mention, Josh avg about 1.5 steals per game. Josh is a much better rebounder. Since JJ has been down Josh has been avg 20/10/3/3/3 per game. Iguodala has a higher scoring avg because he has been the focus of the offense longer than Josh has.
The ceiling for Josh Smith is much higher. He still gets a lot of points off of athleticism, be he is developing a post game and his jumper is getting more consistent. Where is Iguodala going to improve? Is he going to get a post game? Will he all of a sudden going to start shooting 50% from the field? Iggy will probably max out as a 19/5/5 player which is awesome. Josh may top out as a 25/10/3/3/1.5 player, which is All-star and MVP material.
Perfect. That's what I tried to do, pick two players that are highly comparable to each other that it's hard for an individual like yourself to choose one over the other. I like Josh Smith better though. Sorry Ridonks.
