To me, it looked like he hung around outside the 3pt line and shot jumpers. I guess we'll see next year...

I'm hurt, why would you associate this guy with me? I think the sailing reference is probably more of a reference to this: http://www.cbc.ca/sports/story/2002/...ele021004.html so that clears me, why would I pretend to be a mediocre sailor? Maybe this gimmick is supposed to be Bison Dele's ghost?

No, he has very little Ginobili in his game. Manu's game has always been about unpredicable drives and crazy finishes or passes, Belinelli is about moving off the ball, catch and shoot out of the 3pt line.
He's pretty athletic, but he doesn't take advantage of it even at this level where he's near the top in that.

He's very experienced for a guy that young, but he lacks the basic skills the NBA wants to see to start salivating for a shooting guard (= creativty off the dribble, some point skills).

End of first round talent in my book.

I saw a lot of attacking the rim in those clips.

I bet you could put together a highlight video that makes Steve Kerr look like an attacking player, too, if you were willing to put enough work into it.

He reminds me of Brent Barry when he was younger.

this dude has a swagger about him that JAric doesnt have. Some coaches say one of this biggest things that holds some plays back is not thinking they are stars. This kid has confidence in his game and is the focal point of one of the top teams in the Euroleague at 20 and 21. HE has a great three point shoot, hits big shoots, is a good passer and definately better than most players in the draft. This dude is one of the best players in Euroleague, that is league that is 30 times better than the NCAA and he is end of first round talent. That is a joke, put him in the NCAA and he is the best guard in the game.

I would love for the Suns to try and package there pick and the cavs pick to move up and get him. He looks like he might need a couple years on a NBA bench though. I can see him as a very good starter in the league after that.

Ok ok ok... maybe NOT marko jaric.. but still, euroleague is nothing. i mean nothing. look at anthony parker. he came from overseas and was MVP TWICE. Look where he's at now. 31 year old recovering from an injury and averages like 10 a game.
You can't compare europe to u.s.a buddy..

Anthony Parker is a starter on a playoff team before he got hurt. He was actually quite a complete player from what I saw.

Belinelli is already putting up numbers in Euroleague at 20. His jumper is pure and its quick as hell. Is his jumper going to suddenly get worst in the NBA. He was giving team USA work with the same jumper. The kid is a pure shooter...much better than Reddick(lottery pick).

Just shows how bias us Americans are to US players. Dude is one of the best players in Euroleague, a pure shooter, who is athletic and can handle the ball. But he cant be a lottery pick but guys like JJ Reddick go lottery and arent nearly as good.

If Belinelli played for Duke... he would be a top 5 pick.

i'll probably raise my prediction to the next Manu Ginobili and he kinda looks like Brent Barry in his prime with the same skill

Yeah the commentators on TV broadcasting the World Championships were talking about him when the US played Italy. He's a good shooter. Pretty athletic. And hes been playing professional ball since he was a teen. I would take him in the middle of the first round.

You poeple obviously just don't know him, he's not Ginobili and, likely, he'll never be.

Parker is a stud even in the NBA, it's not a case he's top10 in +/- All NBA.

Doesn't look amazingly athletic to me.

He is 6'6" right?

A 270 at 6'6" isn't that impressive (by NBA standards) even for a white guy.

Looks like average NBA athlete.

I can't speak for his other skills tho.
