Default Draft

Should the sixers try to lose every game to get a good pick in the draft and hopefully pick up Durant or Oden?

no we'll be fine we already have two first round picks being last will give us a 3rd one which would be nice, but we dont need it and id actually like to see them play hard to finish the season.

No way should they try to lose every single game. This is an evaluation period for the youngsters to see where they stand and what are the team needs this offseason. So far the 76ers are ahead of schedule with their progress. They need to show they can win ball games. You can't bring a rookie into a losing enviroment that hurts their confidence and they aren't as effective on a losing team. The 76ers are on the right path losing will only hinder their progress.

And how many of those players stayed with those same losing teams. Maybe I went overboard on the confidence issue. But I didn't go overboard about coming to a bad team dosen't always bring out the best in young rookies. Some just use bad teams as stepping stones to make themselves better so they can then join a contending team, and there is plenty proof of that. This same thing can happen to the sixers if they continue to show they aren't an improving team.

I want a big with our 1st pick ideally i want Oden, Durant, or Brandan Wright but if we dont get one of them my next choice would be Al Horford.

Look at Elton Brand Ron Artest both drafted by Chicago both left Chicago, and became all stars. Gilbert Arenas drafted by Golden State bacame an all star after he joined Washington. Mike Bibby drafted by Vancouver left them for Sacramento and nearly made the nba finals. Tracy McGrady had a rough start in Toronto and he bolted and now he is a much better player in Houston.
Steve Nash didn't even stay in Phoenix 3 years after they drafted him and his numbers went sky high after he left for Dallas. And what all these players have in common they left franchises that were not winning to join those who were or were on the rise.

i agree with 76ers4life... jus b/c they start on a team does not mean they'll stay there and not do well they can just basically get traded or something and become a rising star.

Gilbert didnt become an all star cause he left golden state he became one because he worked harder and we he finally got off the bench he became someting so that had nothing to with that. Also some rookies arnt always what there suposeed to be and what that other kid about sayin oden is overrated, well your an idiot

I see you want to take this the distance. Let's put everthing into perspective he did become an all star after he left Golden State, and that is fact not something I made up. Now you want to say because it was from hard work when I never even questioned that. You can't make the pros if you don't work hard so you can't use that against me either. I do recall saying some rookies aren't as effective on loosing teams witch I meant I didnt mean the rookie was no good I simply said that it is not a good enviroment to get the best out of a rookie, and you still ran with that. He bacame an all star with the Wizards not the Warriors that is truth based on facts wether you want to believe it or not, by him working hard is off the topic let's stick to the topic he didn't have a good go around in GoldenState for whatever reason he went to Washington and is getting it done this whole debate came right back to exactly the same comment I made some rookies aren't always effective on loosing teams. It could be they can't get enough playing time the offense dosen't fit their strengths etc. There are alot of reasons a rookie dosen't do well on a team. Gilberts strenghth is scoring look at his improvement in that category on espn.com or nba.com matter of fact other areas improved as well since he went to Washinton. What are you tring to prove to me or what are you trying to get me to see.
