I'm not sure why this is being asked.

He made one All-Pro team in four years.

Earl Thomas has made 3 All-Pro teams in his first 4 years.

Ed Reed made 8 in his first 10 years.

I like Earl Thomas because of his time at UT, but you actually he's better than Taylor was? All-Pro teams are your sole criteria for judging players?

It's a pretty good indicator of the elite players at their position for the season. Far more credibility than Pro Bowl teams.

Taylor may have been the most physically gifted safety ever. That's as far as I would go.

Yeah that's a better way to put it. GOAT natural talent at that position.

certainly not GOAT, maybe he would have retired top-10 all time

Taylor's death made him a little overrated IMO...early in his career he was similar to Roy Williams Dallas and was a liability in coverage. It wasn't until his last year that it started to look like he might have turned that around but who knows.

Reed, Troy P, and Lott were all easily more gifted IMO

Taylor probably would have retired in the same tier as Sharper, Dawkins, Darren Woodson, etc..which is awesome but not "GOAT"

Yes he is. People are overrating Taylor now just because he got killed...And that All-Pro team he made was after his death

Lol at Earl Thomas being better than ST. Your nuts if you think that Earl has the amount of talent as Sean did.

Not concerned with "amount of talent" Earl is a better football player than Taylor was. And so were Ed Reed, and Troy Polamalu...Heck i'm not even sure he's better than prime Nick Collins (who also had has career ended short, unfortunately)...So no he's not close to GOAT

He was turning his life around and his football career was heading in the right direction.

I like Eric Berry, he has a similar game to Taylor's.

Berry always reminded me of Sean at Tennessee because he was such a great pursuer of the ball at the lower levels as well has having very good instincts in coverage.

That's one aspect that guys like Thomas, Reed, Sharper, Collins and Woodson (dunno why PT would mention him in Sean's class) can't touch. Am I saying Sean Taylor is better than Ed Reed. which would effectively make him GOAT? No but he was probably the best all around safety prospect of the last twenty five years or so and watching dude intently and fully for those 4 seasons gives me no doubt he would have been a top 3 safety to ever play.

Sean was a terror when he came up to attack. Dude would change the tone of the game just by his presence.

Taylor has a couple great years before his death so he outclasses Darren Woodson?...why even mention them together right?

This is what I mean by Taylor being overrated by his death...because he died we are supposed to blindly assume he would have went on to be a 10x All-Pro even though it is somewhat common for a player to shine for a few years and then fall off into mediocrity.
