Default Mardy Collins

it was a good pick, marcus williams has 13% body fat and is out of shape, mardy collins plays defense, i can't wait til you see how much better we are going to be at defense

Man we are going to have so much damn firepower. If Collins can really play PG then Nate/Steph and Francis will be free to do what they do best, and that is score.

Many scouts will have some explaining to do when people see how good the guy is. I don't like the Aaron McKie comparisons though. To me he's more of a 6'5" Jamal Tinsley.

yeah - i don't really like the McKie comparisons either.
I think Mardy should be an incredibly valuable asset to the team.

from www.dwolin.blogspot.com - Mardy Collins is definitely a solid pick at 29. He (deservedly) was viewed as a possible lottery pick because of his excellent play-making ability, experience, and size. I have seen him play and I love the way he competes. My only reservation concerning Mardy is that his speed is a bit sub-par. This could definitely hinder his ability to play point; I think people often overvalue size at the PG position and undervalue speed/quickness. That being said, there will always be a spot for a playmaker like Collins on the floor, especially on a team like the Knicks where the PG's aren't really PG's. I think that is the most important thing to consider when talking about Mardy Collins' value on the Knicks... The Knick PG's are excellent scorers, but their playmaking abilities and attitude leave something to be desired. With Mardy on the floor, he helps neutralize the negative effects of a scoring point guard (there are also positives to scoring PG's) as he will not play the traditional scoring role of a 2 guard - rather a playmaking ballplayer.

i like the pick. he is a great defender. i dont think francis will be back so maybe he can play more minutes. he played against redick last season redick only had 11 points. and also he played for jon chaney, so u know he isnt goin to be a cupcake.

trade francis to somebody that needs him that can give us a backup sg. preferably a team that has cap room.

Are you ****ing kidding me?

If your only criticism of Marcus Williams is his 13% body fat situation, thats very interesting. The fact that he could very well be the best pure point guard to come out of college in recent years doesn't stand for anything?

Here's a solution.. 13% - body fat have him run in the offseason and he'll be good. Its not like we're talking about Oliver Miller or Charles Barkley here (CB being the best fat boy to ever play BBall).

REal Lemme show you what 13% body fat looks like just incase if you didn't know:

Uggg what a FATBOY

Collins was a great pickup at the spot, but I don't see how he's going to get any minutes unless the team trades at least two other guards away
