I don't think Yao or Wade are in thier primes. Wade is only 25 and he's been in the league 4. I'm not sure how old Yao is but he's only been in the league 5-6 years.

Yao will be 27 in September. I think Wade's prime will be next year or the year after(unless he never fully recovers from the shoulder injury).

Prime is not about how many season you've been in the league or your age. Hall if Famer Walt Bellamy's prime were his first 4 seaso in the league. You could say Sam Cassells prime were in his later years.

Physical prime is at age 27. Statistical can be at any time.

Prime isn't just about athletic ability.

Yao still has things he can add to his game, so he still hasn't reached his prime.

Wade is far away from reaching his prime too as is Lebron and every other young star thats only been in the league for 5 years or less.

Players like Tmac and Kobe are in their prime, because now both players have great all around games.

I understand that, but when I watch both Yao and wade play, I see two players who are incomplete with major flaws in their game. Yao can improve his decision making when facing double teams, and Wade can strenghten his midrange game, become a better defender and even develope a back to the basket game. Consider these are two guys with great work ethics, I expect them to improve in those areas. Baring major injury, I think both Yao and Wade will continue to progress which is why I believe we have yet to see them in their absolute prime.

You can have a very long period of prime years, or your prime can be shorter then Spud Webb.

Yao can still improve, so I don't put him in his prime.

others: Redd, Ray Allen, PP (when healthy), Bibby, Tony Parker, Nash (late bloomer), Matrix, Agent Zero, Joe Johnson...

I'd define prime of their careers to mean their value is the highest. Previous years were worse, and I don't anticipate future years to be better. We'll look back and appreciate their contributions most for this year.

Gerald Wallace
Steve Nash
Paul Pierce
Lamar Odom
Antonio McDyess
