Default Jim Buss (Jerry's son) was just on LA radio...

Well its true. The Lakers were a top 5 team through 40+ games this year before Luke, LO, Space Cadet and Kwame had major injuries. They still arn't close to being healthy ethier. If they hadn't of been injured you're looking at a 55 win team.

If the Lakers remained healthy, they would definitely make some noise, but championship calibur, absolutely not.

How do you win a championship without

a 2nd option
a pg
post scoring
perimeter defense
interior defense
bench
intelligence
veteran leadership
etc

??????

Defense in general is just horrible, its not one specific thing.

Not even close. No way could they take both the Spurs and the Suns or Mavs or whatever in a 7 game series and then *still* have to best the East champs.

I'd want to laugh at this but it hurts so I can't.

I know that the franchise that I love is in wrong hands and therefore I don't know what to think. Unfortunetely, I see the endless struggle.

Some people who are high in the Lakers organization (or just high) have a mindset of an average, realistic Laker fan.

I just don't see any perspective. This won't be pretty

It's not just that he thinks that the Lakers are a contender. It's that he's totally cluless, unrealistic and stupid.
And that's the man that's going to be on top of the Lakers one day.

God I wish someone like Roman Abramovich bought the Lakers.

**** this. All Jim Buss wants is a shot in the future, does he even care about right now? And Jerry Buss is sittin there on his ass, as long as the money keeps coming (Kobe).

Phil needs to speak up

You think Phil will re-sign or is he counting the days until his contract is up?

Without injuries, the Lakers are a championship team?

I think Jim Buss is living in a fantasy world where Smush Parker is better than the other All-Star Parker, Kobe is MJ, Bynum is Shaq and Odom is Pippen. Dream on Jim Buss. Phil Jackson, you should jump this ship before it starts sinking soon.
