I have noticed players are actually retiring sooner now than later. I have also noticed that many NBA players peak at the age of 28 where ten years ago they peaked around age 31. I think the over reliance on athleticism has made it harder for guys to play in their mid and upper 30's.

Keep in mind Deke came into the league at the age of 25. Like others have said, 82 games plus possible playoffs takes a toll, the more time a player spends at college, the more likely he is to play at a late age.

i think more players will still play into their 40s. why? the league is going to bee more watered down in the next 10-15 years since more international players will stay in their country than play in the states.

Darrell Armostrong is still good with the Pacers. He actually improved, at his age, with his 3-pt shooting.
