Probably, even though I don't want to admit it.

I'm 32 now and probably wouldn't be very influenced to buy a shoe because of who endorses them... although, I'd imagine I wouldn't want to be wearing someone like Kobe's shoes, even if they looked good.

Back in the day though, when I was playing basketball all day long I bought me a couple pairs of Jordan's, one of the pair's were really cool, and the other version was kind of funky looking. Then Karl Malone came out with his Catapult shoes and I bought them right away, but it wasn't so much that Karl Malone endorsed them (even though I was a huge fan), as much as they had some seemingly crazy cool mechanism that was suppost to help your leap or something. I actually did like them, but I would rip out the mechanism in less than a week while playing on the asphalt, and took them back for a new pair 3 times before just playing with them broken.

If we want to get technical, Nike's large part for sucess in selling us sneakers was MJ. Nike's name grew and their market share, everyone started buying NIKES then. BRAND LOYALTY came into play and people would just buy Nikes from there on out ( even today where he isnt playing ) . So technically he is still influencing us to buy NIKE sneakers.

Yeah, but did you see me say why anywhere? Didn't think so. Jordan as a brand encompassed the world of basketball at the time. He was the best player in the game, his commercials were on point, and he single handedly increased the interest in buying basketall merchandise. I didn't buy the shoes because I was looking at his feet while he played.

Many players have influenced me NOT to buy shoes - meaning that their association with a given brand means that I know that shoe will be much higher priced than any shoe I buy.

players have caused me not to buy shoes or apparel or even soft drinks. I will buy nothing with Lebrons face on it. He clothes(ugly anyway), shoes or even bottles of Sprite.

imo the only shoes that are ridiculously priced nowadays are the jordans. them things are in the 150+ range and theyre look is... questionable.

kobes and tmacs are usually 120. wades are around 90 which is awesome and makes me wanna buy a pair. lebrons are 150 i think.

Nash does. The Nike Air Uptempo Stutter Step. They're cheap too, 75$MSRP and they sell at JcPenneys of all places. That's actually somethign Nash and Dirk both have in common. They like simpler shoes and not the shox, foamposites, carbon fiber type bells and whistles. Nike always gives Dirk the newest whatever's out like Huarache 2K5s then in a matter of games he's rest back to the Dual D's or Air Max Profile something.

Anyways, here are the Nash's
