Default richardson undergoes season-ending surgery

The Knicks revealed Friday that Quentin Richardson underwent back surgery on Thursday night and is finished for the season.

In recent weeks, the Knicks have been vague on Richardson's status, saying that he was day-to-day. However, after his most recent MRI and CT scan, the Knicks' team doctors spoke with neurosurgeon Dr. Barth Green in Miami and decided surgery was needed. Green performed the surgery on Richardson on Thursday night.

"He is expected to make a full recovery," Knicks vice president of communications Jonathan Supranowitz said.

Supranowitz said the surgery is not career-threatening and the team expects Richardson to be ready for training camp next season.

Wow, you guys were making a playoff push too. but good luck to you guys!

Thats bad news, Q-Rich was one of the few leaders we have, and one if not the only guy who seems to give it his all on both ends.

I have a feeling that this might just do Q-Rich in. For someone his age, he is not even 27 yet, he is hurt an awful lot. I just did a quick search. He missed 27 games last year, he will miss about 33 games this year. And in 2003-2004 he missed 17 games. I hope he does not become one of those players whose body breaks down too early and he never is able to reach his full potential.

Speedy Recovery Q-Rich

Maybe this will fix the problem and he'll be back and be useful.

Maybe he's done.

I don't think he will ever be 100% though.

I hope he comes back and is 100% or at least gives us some minutes next season.

This further helps my prior case.
Let him get surgery and recover nice and slowly.
When he gets back...make him the sixth man.
That way he gives you 25 great minutes. For the WHOLE season. Not the first couple of months.

If Crawford is willing to fix his game--TO's, Shot Selection, and Defense.
We keep him at the 2.

If not (which I agree with) we use a package of Crawford,Nate,Jared J, and Malik.
For a two gaurd with a big contract that will be let go in 2 or 3 years.
I think that package can get Ray Allen and Earl Watson which we will release or trade b4 the season starts. The team is rebuilding and getting money for Lewis.

Eddy Curry
Frye
Lee
Ray Allen
Marbury

Quentin R.
Balkman
Mardy
Morris

Draft Rodney Stuckey with the pick. A strong combo gaurd that is gifted on both sides of the game. Scored 26 pts a game in a bad league but his skillz are set for the nba.

Drafting Rodney Stuckey on the side helps Marbury and Allen if they get hurt or tired and going against quicker teams. He would have 2 years to develop and truly see if hes a pg or sg.

With bigger teams we still have Morris, Cato, and James to throw at them.

if seattles GM makes that trade, expect him to be looking for a new job the next day. crawford has decent value, nate is ehhh, no one wants jeffries or rose. they could get a MUCH better deal. and lets say the seattle gm doesnt really like his job and tricks his team into doing it, they wouldnt release watson, hes probably better than some of their players and was a player they tried to get last year.

I think they would take it.
When teams rebuild they would take a package like that
Jamal has value
Nate would bring fans and both of these guys are from Seattle
Jared is the only hit. But still 25 years old with decent upside.
Malik is lik 8 million contract is up at the end of that year AND if u remember correctly..Seattle wanted him last year to.

We wanted Watson cuz of Larry Brown. I like Mardy much more then Watson.
Bigger and more talented.

malik rose is not a FA after the season. he has two more years at 7+ per after this season. he said it himself before the trading deadline when he was asked if he thought he'd be traded. he said that he didnt because no one wants his contract, also mentioning that he wouldnt ask isaiah for a trade because of the respect he has for him.
