Why did Pierce have to sign that extension? He knew the Celtics weren't going to be any good, didn't he?

$.

How many other team's could've given him 19-20 mill a year?

As for Pierce, he's right about everything he says. I've been saying the same things this whole time.

If Danny Ainge wants to earn any respect back from the Boston fans, he should get Antoine Walker back. They went down the toilet when he left, won the division when he returned, and sucked when he left.

No way Antoine Walker is the answer to Boston's problems. You're insane.

If this were 2005, you'd be praising me for saying that.

Highly doubtful, but in any case, if you haven't noticed, it's 2007.

"I want to be recognized for what I've accomplished," Pierce said. "That may sound selfish, but I've sacrificed a lot. I want to win. That's all I want. Most great players are selfish.

No one can fault him for this... We want you to have have that Paul, believe me, we want you to have that...

Pierce said he's willing to reach out and sell Boston to potential acquisitions.

"I'd love to play with Garnett," Pierce said. "Jermaine O'Neal, too. Boozer's a good player, but he's been hurt so much. Guys with a short history of getting hurt are always going to get hurt.

"I also like Gasol. He's proven. He could have easily said this season, 'We suck every night, I'm not going to play,' but he didn't. He put up numbers instead.

He sure isn't in agreement with the youth movement. He realizes that he's getting older and his window of opportunity is closing. I'm still hopeful we'll get a good draft pick (Oden) that would help lead us back to winning.

If Pierce can't make the playoffs in the putrid East next year with a legit young big in Jefferson and a 20 point scorer in Wally he shouldn't talk like he's some great player that has no help, a great player should be able to do that.

That's a pile of crap, pierce's has been injured and so have the two you mentioned, he has carried that team for quite some time now....

it's funny you say that too, pierce's situation this season is not unlike kobe's at the lakers, they both do have players around them that can contribute but due to injuries he hasn't had the whole team round him for any real stretch...

I'd take pierce on the lakers in a heartbeat... great attitude, gives it his all and has heart

Telfair & Szczerbiak = worst backcourt in the NBA.

Wally = 1 time all-star and a ultimate Second option to any superstar in this league...

i don't know bout the Telfair Rondo story... but i still tink Telfair has more talent... have you seen him play in HS???!!!
