Just saw episodes USS Callister, Hang the DJ, & Black Museum. All 3 episodes were very good. Not sure if I want to give the rest of season 4 a viewing since I heard the rest of the episodes are underwhelming.

Had to abort after like 30 minutes of the first episode, the show's obsession with augmented reality/video game immersion has become tedious. And of course, the good ole evil patriarch vs strong agent woman

in first episode, "strong agent woman" hacks into the unhackable program in 3 seconds while other characters had tried "a million times."

Why the hell does Robert Daly, supposed smartest person in the world and creator of the program, allow it to connect to the internet from the people inside? what an idiot. just keep your secret program on a separate computer without an ethernet card. he might as well store his porn on the work computer cloud too. Why would you store your deepest, darkest secret program on your work cloud AND allow it to be hacked in 3 seconds from your captives? You designed the program so you can turn people into monsters and take off faces with your mind, but somehow you require a little hand-held device (to exit game) that can be used by the others? cool twist in the beginning, but the rest was junk

second episode, a 21 year-old plays a 15 year-old girl. annoying. mom and daughter have no communication. Mom has her daughter's entire life recording and control of her brain on a tablet that is kept in the open without a password to access it. are you f'ing serious? not even a basic fingerprint password?

Lmao this annoyed me a lot for some reason. That actress was at least 25 lol. I liked the Icelandic murder spree episode. Never forget about the guinea pig!

S4 E1 and E4 were amazing, but none of the other eps look like they come close from their description and ratings...

E6 is obviously rated high on Imdb but lefty AV Club has called it a dud, probably butthurt about something.

I guess E6 really is the only one left worth watching?

I really didn't like the last episode, Black Museum. It's triple story and the campiness of the curator just all felt off to me. It felt more like an old Tales From the Crypt episode to me.

Everything else I liked to some degree or another.

Ep 1, USS Callister, I thought was great.

Ep. 2, Arkangel, I seem to like more than most. It's a touch more predictable than most, but I still thought it was good.

Ep. 3, Crocodile, is the next worst of the season for me. But it has a few things I liked more. I like the tech of it, and it has some themetic familiarity to some of my other favorite episodes, like privacy themes. But the character behavior is so out of whack it kind of fell apart. Some weird decisions and feels like it could've been better with some tweeks.

Ep. 4, Hang the DJ, is definitely a spiritual successor to San Junipero, which is a great episode. It's probably not as a good as that, but it's still excellent. A rare good vibe. Helps that the characters, especially her, are completely charming.

Ep. 5, Metalhead, is the one that's most polarizing. Totally different feel than most, and I know people hate the lack of context. But I really liked the change of pace, and the fact it didn't feel like a parable, which most of them do. I understand the complaints, but I'm more in the camp that it feels like a really excellent student film, or a short, that would be presented to a studio for funding to make a full feature. I'd watch more of that world. The style was great. Some creepy Uncanny Valley stuff in there too.

1, 4, 5, 2, 3, 6 is my season episode rankings. I know I'm out of sync with a lot of people on 6, and 5 people seem to be love or hate on. 1 and 4 to me are the obvious top two.

First episode was great, that dating episode was good, the episode about that serial killer was good and the other episodes were meh with the exception of the last episode with that robot killer which was just bad.
